So people in London, is there any other shows on the 18th? Since I don't think brand new will go ahead/ if I even would go if they did

I'm there from 17th-25th I'm hopefully seeing bronx and then going to Every Time I Die on the 24th. If you're around hiiii

I see Annabel Fraser is playing at The Social in West London and I'm not sure who that is but I recognize the name (help me!). Couple other shows around town, do you have the app Dice? They list shows all around town and you can buy tickets with your phone wicked easy.

Update on the Legos. My son and I argued for five minutes about how Gamora should sit in the spaceship before I remembered that my son is three years old.

I got into a heated argument with my nephew about the inconsistencies of his Superman Halloween costume. In the midst of the divisive exchange, I look over at his mother giving me the biggest "are you serious?" look. He's 3 as well.

Thing is, I wasn't even surprised by this. That's the crazy part. I'm just not surprised anymore. Even when it comes to my favorite band.

I can see it being cancelled but I also have four tickets I'll be selling and donating the money to charity if it's not. No way I'm going.

As for other things you may wanna look into whilst here:

Royal Blood - 20th, Alexandra Palace
    Sivu - 23rd, Metropolis Studios
and so i watch you from afar - 24th, KOKO
Wolf Alice - 24th, Alexandra Palace

As for the 18th, head to Camden and hit up the Underworld for a grimy alternative/indie/rock club night.

Let me know if you'd like any other advice!

I wasn't going to comment here. A lot of great things have been said already. But I want to acknowledge this great community.

A long while back when I was still a teenager there was an article on Absolute Punk about one of these situations -- girl exposes band guy for sexual misconduct. I can't remember the details. But I remember my response, which I posted. I said she should go/have gone to the police about it.
Several people responded angrily. I remember Jason Tate said something like 'guys need to stop telling girls what to do'. I was naive. I responded to Tate with some bullshit about how rape can affect guys as well. I was referring to child molestation but regardless it was bullshit.

One person seemed... not understanding, but more willing to help me I guess. We had a polite chat and she showed me articles stating that, of all rape allegations that go to the police, something like one per cent -- ONE -- of perpetrators end up in jail. Most are not punished at all. I understood why victims would not trust the legal system (setting aside all the other reasons they may not want to come forward, which are all legitimate as well of course). That conversation forever changed my views on the matter. I have no idea who she was but I am truly grateful.

I hope anyone in here victim blaming, or straight up hoping the allegations go away even if they are true, can also learn and become a better person.

Well done everyone and especially Jason Tate for making this such a fantastic part of the internet. I love Brand New as well. I'm not sure what I will do with this news. I think I'll probably at least try to listen to the music again one day, but I certainly will not spend another cent on them. I can only imagine the conflict Jason and others are feeling for having done so much to promote the band, which they have loved, without realising exactly what type of person they were supporting. The person at fault here is not you, not any of you. I'm sorry you're hurt and let down but there is a lot of good in the world and there will only be more and more if communities like this one keep fighting for what's right.

Haha yesss i will be definitely hitting up Camden! I used to live in London for 2 years and beyond stoked to be going back even if it's just a week. Seeing BR was the main reason to go but it'll still be a great time seeing my friends and other bands too. I just wish I didn't feel so shitty

Well said and thank you for taking the time to actually listen and allowing yourself to view these types of issues in a different light aka not being ignorant about, so many people still don't.
It is hard it really is to come forward and speak up because the backlash is beyond real and you're always going to be second guessed no matter what.

I'm glad these allegations are taken seriously and everyone on here has been really great about it. I'm torn between they were favourite band, they made the biggest impact and now having to let that go (without sounding like a total jerk about it)

In my personal opinion, i don’t think we need to let go of our past when it comes to our connection to Brand New albums. Most important thing is we help be a catalyst for change in culture in this scene in the future. This kind of thing going forward from this is going to be different for everyone, depending on what they’re comfortable with. But i don’t think anybody is a bad person if they still listen to the songs. But it’s so tough. I hope this doesn’t come off as making light of the situation, i feel like I’ve made my stance on everything quite clear to anyone who’s been following this thread.

Doesn't make you sound like a jerk at all. I think almost everyone in here is wrestling with that same feeling. I think it is completely fine to feel bad for yourself. You've been let down badly. Everyone knows we feel much worse for the victim than ourselves. You can feel both.

I love Feist but the pre-release singles for this left me underwhelmed so I never gave the album a chance. Maybe I'll finally give it a full listen after I'm done with Phoebe Bridgers.

I'm not going to lie, I've never needed to put more work into liking an album, but boy was the payoff worth it.

I did. It started at first with me just wanting to hear Me vs. Maradona vs. Elvis again to remind myself how disgusting those lyrics really were. But then the record kept playing and I was thinking less about the creep who was singing and more about the memories of high school that I associated with that record. It's tough to say now how I'll view their music moving forward.
