I for one felt like it was Louie CK being honest with himself and us on the matter. Probably the most honest response we could and have received from any offender, and tbh, nothing he would've or could've said would be enough to make everyone happy. It's literally impossible. There is no universal right way to take accountability. I don't feel like if he came out and said anything else that it would be believable. It'd be him pretending to be a changed man. He clearly isn't, and he addressed the victims first. He also consciously acknowledged the effect and gravity of the situation. Again, no words fix what he did. But it was the appropriate response. If he hadn't said anything, that'd be way worse.



Idk how Jesse Lacey can apologize for behaving like he apparently did with multiple young girls in my eyes ever. I'm really upset about this.

while i obviously don't know what it's like to be in her shoes, i'm confused why she wouldn't want to dig that up if she's coming forward with her story. doing so would only validate her account and i would think she's rehashing her past already by telling everyone about it. maybe i'm just ignorant

I know better than to question it, I know it's from a part of me that is a Brand New fan not wanting to believe. The way she's going about relaying her story and feelings on the matter make me confused and more upset.

 

because why would she want to directly visually bring up her trauma? i'm sure she's done what she can to block those images out

Yeah there are some things that happen that deeply affect people - they have to block it out for the sake of their sanity, so they're only able to talk about the events up to a point in case they're set off by flashbacks.
