Finally able to listen. Holy fuck. I forgot how much I love this band. Keep You connected with me hugely on an emotional level back when it came out and I was uni, even if it wasn't a parent that it reminded me of. Now, I'm in a better place and this album is coming out just when I need it.

I'm so excited to have this band back again.

 

You are my absolute hero.

 

Couple o' things

1. I have been on AP/Chorus since 09/10 and never heard the term "wave bands" before.

2. Wildlife is a great album. The Most Beautiful Bitter Fruit through I See Everything stretch is phenomenal.

 

I presumed everyone knew of "the Wave", even if it's a really stupid term for a very loose collection of (all very good) bands.

 

Song is good not great. I didn’t love repine first listen either tho. There’s almost no chance I won’t love the record tho based on the past couple

 

ayyyy back to the Rozwell kid jokes that’s why I mentioned them knew it’d be in your wheelhouse yeahhhhh

 

i think i like this more than i liked Repine on initial listens but Keep You is an album that is so tethered to my father that its hard for me to really look at it as just an album of songs or anything like that. im not sure if this album will be able to do that and i dont really expect it to. the new song tugs on my heartstrings but in a more joyous way and im fine with that.

Yeah I’m probably on like 10 listens. I can’t fathom liking Keep You but not liking this....

Also finally listened to Touché Amore today and loved their most recent album

 

Yeah like this is a veeeeery natural progression from Keep You

Yeah I don’t get the dislike! Unless you are a homie that misses the screaming and dislikes Keep You. But also if you disliked Keep You I don’t think we could be friends... anyways you get it man.


Side note unrelated to this. I went to a Jazz game instead of watching the Oilers last night and they won and the jazz lost. It’s official I’m bad luck
