I can't say I have advice for you, but I'm just surprised you've never discussed anything along those lines. Maybe I'm an outlier, but I have to discuss stuff like that even with anyone I date casually.

If they won't vote for Hillary, will they not be voting then?

    Give what you can.

Nope. You've come this far I'd just keep right on not discussing it.

Aren't their economic platforms pretty much polar opposites?

So what makes you think they'll do better this time? There have been lots of reports of non-white voters, particularly Hispanics, are mobilizing like never before to vote against Trump. Same with Muslim voters. Are there really enough angry, white Trump supporters that haven't already been voting?

Honestly, if you're a Bernie supporter and you wanna help Trump win, you should be embarrassed.

I am still stuck between the two arguments that have been thrown around in these threads often. I don't know if I'll vote against Trump or for Jill Stein. It'll probably come down to the ballot box for me.

I get what you're saying, but I don't think it's "embarrassing" at all to vote for what you believe in, instead of feeling forced to vote for someone who doesn't share your values.

Not that you should try to force your kids to think a certain way, but if you want to instill certain values like support for LGBT+ or women's rights, this could become an issue.

I think it's a confluence of factors. Hillary Clinton, if she weren't running against Trump, would be one of the least-favorably viewed presidential candidates out of the gate that I can think of. Obama didn't depress liberal voters, for a number of reasons, in a way that I believe Clinton might. She is basically running on the platform of not being Donald Trump. We just watched an entire field of candidates fail by taking that approach. So I'm not saying that Trump will win or Clinton won't change her message to something more compelling. I'm just saying that these are things that I find concerning.

i don't think you can have supported sanders if you are now supporting trump without having either an incredibly narrow focus (namely, trade or protest voting) or a complete lack of understanding of sanders' platform. regardless, I'll be glad that I'm not in the same camp as those people.

I don't want to help Trump win, I also don't want to help Clinton win. I will happily vote for Jill Stein.

Wouldn't a vote for Jill Stein, mean essentially a vote for Trump?

There's a good video that's been posted here in the past, explaining all this, using animals or something, haha

Yeah sorry but I think y'all are nuts for not voting against Trump haha. But we've had that discussion a million times here, rehashing it ain't gonna change anyone's mind.

Clinton will get my vote because a Trump presidency is terrifying in a non-hyperbole-y way and I'm hopeful a GOP loss will finally moderate out the Republican party after a 35 year swing to the right.

No, it really isn't. And that video you're referring just shows why there will always be two dominant parties in a first past the post electoral system and a third party would never win absent some rare external factors that aren't mentioned because the video is an incredibly simplistic look at how elections work in the first place.

I think the chance that a GOP loss will make the Republican party more moderate is extremely unlikely. Given what we've seen during this election, how do you see that happening? Republicans nationwide have made it pretty clear how far right the party stands, and it's only gotten worse.

It would probably be the greatest/most prolific 4 years of punk music generation in history (because obviously he wouldn't get elected a 2nd term)
