Matty is an atheist associated with humanist organizations who are rightfully fearful of religion’s power to marginalize and discriminate people. Yup. I mean it still sounds nice, but this is just a watered down version of what I’ve heard before.

All too similar to me, but I'll wait for an album before writing them off

 

i just listened to them for the first time. i dont really like the singer's voice/cadence. like its really annoying sounding when an otherwise normal note cracks into her falsetto at the tail end, and its annoying when it happens like a hundred times in the same song.

 

they're also just not unique at all. i know matty and george worked on this stuff (right? im not making that up am i) but this is a&r bait.

well yeah i figured they were signed but they just seem like an emulation of a current "in" sound without bringing anything new to the table themselves. which is fine for what it is and there's plenty of potential for them to grow. i mean it took the 1975 forever to finally become the 1975 and then become the version of the 1975 that blew up.
