My phone has been shipped! I just need to survive the weekend!

 

I didn't preorder and now I hate myself

 

I preordered with Telus in Canada less than 2 days ago. I didn't expect it to ship so soon!

 

Going to have to make my landscape designs look better. Hah.

 

Swiping on the home indicator to go between apps is awesome.

 

Thoughts on the screen size from people who upgraded from a Plus model? Have seen quite a few people in Aus saying the screen area felt like a huge step down after the Plus and that it was underwhelming on the whole and getting a little concerned...

Hoping it’s just Australians being whingers because they had to pay a couple hundred more $ for the X and expect blood for that.

 

One handed operation is gonna take some getting used to. Getting the multi task gesture down too.

 

I don’t even notice a difference tbh.

 

I think I’m already used to the swipe up to go home. Didn’t take much time at all.

 

Same / it didn’t take long to get used to all the new gestures

 

Also Face ID works perfectly in the dark

 

Most underrated addition imo.

 

I think I might pick up a wireless charger tomorrow but I’m worried about the phone getting hot while charging. Anybody with an 8/8+ use wireless charging?

 

This camera is so good.

 

Loving it so far. One question, when I’m getting notifications (texts or apps) it just says “notification” without displaying what the message is, until I activate Face ID then it’ll show the whole message. Is there a way for it to just display the message as it comes in without activating Face ID?

 

I've heard some okay things about this RAVPower wireless charger on Amazon so I picked one up. Should be here next week and will report back. It's capped at 5W at least as of a few days ago (unless iOS11.1 had the update) but soon it'll be able to charge to 7.5W. Excited to try it out.


Also, this phone is gorgeous.

So I got a silver one and my wife got a space gray and these phones are incredible

 

Sending Drew portrait mode photos.

 

Sitting in the dark about to watch a movie and FaceID works just as well. Impressed.

 

I’ve found that it’s easier for me to get to multitasking if I do a little diagonal to the right from the home indicator. Instead of straight up I pull to the right and it goes right to it.
