Dying to Know, Stop Desire, and White Knuckles are great

 

100x is a gorgeous piano breakup ballad

@Drew Beringer is there anything along the lines of Now I'm All Messed Up or Shock To Your System emotional punch wise?

 

I was wondering this too but I was too lazy to ask.

 

At the show last night, from the new album they played Stop Desire, U-Turn, Boyfriend, and 100x. Tegan mentioned that Stop Desire and 100X should be released in the next week or so.

100x was my favorite of the new songs. Sara completely sells her pain. The fact that the song is about her relationship with Tegan adds an interesting layer to the lyrics.

It's interesting the direction they are going with their live sound. Tegan played guitar for three songs (Call It Off, Where Does the Good Go, and The Con), while Sara barely strummed a guitar for Now I'm All Messed Up. And they only had two other band members- a drummer and keyboardist. The majority of the pre-Hearththrob songs have been remixed to adhere to their new sound.

 

Interesting that they played nothing off Sainthood. It always seems to get a bum deal in their setlists.

 

Ya I realized there was no Sainthood love at the end of the night. People were shouting for The Ocean during the encore, but Tegan scoffed at the thought of playing it. And Tegan also offered a choice between The Con or On Directing which was just a set-up since she knew The Con would be the popular vote.

 

I think both are better than the singles we have so far.

What's wrong with The Ocean? That song is amazing.

 

I love this approach.

 

The Ocean might well be their single best song.

its only a month away and theyve only released three songs

 

I meant if they end up releasing a 4th one ("Stop Desire") this week as well, which is almost half the album.

 

That song might be the best one so far, but the video doesn't do it justice.

 

Great song! I'm loving all these. But yes, I'm torn between wanting more and wanting to wait for the full album.

 

Solidifies my opinion that Tegan is the better songwriter of the two.

 

Song have all been okay to good, but wow do I hate the music videos.

 

Yeah I feel like I don't really understand what they are doing with the vids. I like the music tho, so I guess that's all that matters.
