I think this gripe lies with the issue of binge watching an entire new season in one day lol. Not saying you did, but a lot of people seem to have similar issues of not having enough content or it being too short, when really, we're just rushing through shows now on Netflix. I've tried to limit myself to 2-3 episodes at a time so this doesn't happen to me.

Yes and no. I think when we watch an entire 9 episode season in 7.5 hours, yeah maybe everything seems like it happened so fast, but at the same time, like with season 1, they tried to do so much in so little time. I think even 2 additional episodes here would have allowed them to let the story breathe a little more and develop characters and stories better.

Speaking of Bob, when there were in the facility in episode 8, how did he know water harms the demidogs when he activated the sprinklers? Did I miss a part when someone told him about their weakness?

I’m in the same boat. I haven’t gotten into my nitpicks because when it comes down to it they don’t really affect the overall quality of the show, but there were a lot of moments that just made me go, “hmmm.”

There are only a couple big issues I had, but mostly I enjoyed it.

I just thought he was taking a shot in the dark tbh

I thought he just gave it a shot. Pretty sure nobody knew anything about it. Not that I remember anyways

Definitely. I am not finished yet, but I do feel like I didn't get enough understanding of Mad Max's personality or Will trying to come back to normal life before shit started hitting the fan.

Also, I know Billy is like a total stereotype with very little depth, but he is so enjoyable to watch. That scene with him and Nancy’s mom was absolutely hilarious

If you're past episode 1 this isn't a spoiler but I'll tag it anyway I think it would have been way better to see Will going to doctor's for checkups before we see that he is having episodes. When he has the vision at the arcade, it just makes sense that he's getting pulled out of school to see a doctor. I think it would have been better to see him visiting with doctors, maybe shrouding that with a little mystery as to what he may be doing there, before we see that he i still very severely having these issues

He knows the vines avoided the lake, I think they had a line in there but not sure

Yeah he said the vines don't run under water, they run around them. So maybe that was a tip off that whatever this was did not like water. Good catch.

    yeah good okay Prestigious

Now that I think about it, didn't both seasons end the exact same way? As in with El just blasting whatever evil entity away? Except this time she used both hands lol

Yeah, there was a lot of repetition. Funny comparison, but it actually made me think of The Hunger Games and Catching Fire where the second chapter was basically structured the exact same as the first but with expanded character development and more world building (neither done as well as Stranger Things, just similar). I'm curious how they branch off from this because they can't do the same schtick three times, even if it worked so well this season.

Yeah I liked her being gone after the first time, really carried more weight, like a sacrifice as opposed to like a deus ex machina. More episodes would help kind of draw out a final fight instead of finishing it pretty quickly.

It's always been more about the characters tho so not a huge problem

I think the greatest addition to this season is the dynamic between Hopper and El.

Anyone else feel like Jonathan got the short end of the stick this season as far as characterization goes? He's easily my least favorite of the regulars now and still hasn't transcended his "emo loner kid" trope whereas Nancy and especially Steve just get better and better for me.

Really hope they do more with his character next time around.

well he and Nancy had sex and then they never touched their relationship again and he was just there to support Will, not nearly as much to do as last season

And why did they introduce that girl at the party who thought he was cute? They gave her a name and we never saw her again, I thought for sure they'd space out Jonathan/Nancy for another year and give him a different love interest, but just nothing. Same with the random girl who danced with Will to isolate Dustin, no characterization. And we've had two love triangles, need one with two girls, cmon.

Speaking of Nancy and Jonathan, Brett Gelman has one of the best lines when he asked, “how was the pull out?”

This isn’t a huge criticism of the show and more a personal gripe, but I’m not a huge fan of how analogous everything is to D&D. Like, I understand that they are kids and they need to try and make sense of what’s going on somehow, but at a certain point it just feels silly how perfectly everything aligns. I hope they try it again in the next season and end up being completely wrong.

Nah, it isn't the length of the series, it was the fact that we had all of this build up for the whole season just for Eleven to undo it all within a couple minutes. Yeah she looked wiped out after, but we know she's going to be okay. Just the same exact ending as last season with a bigger monster

  21. Isn't that kinda just most comic/sci-fi shows? Hah, big monster thing needs to be defeated we all team up and go beat it?

Have you watched the Beyond Stranger Things episode where they talk about that "oops" line? He dropped the bite of eggs that was on his fork and that line was improvised. One of my favorite moments from the whole Beyond Stranger Things "series" was seeing the outtake where everybody lost it after that moment.

Lucas and Dustin’s story would have been very different. Steve’s would have ended very differently to within the last “battle”.
