Finally listened to the new Julien Baker album and I still have the same problems I did with her last one. I do really like the first 3 tracks as well as the closer, though, so I'm hoping this one can grow on me

Thinking of maybe getting the Sci Fi shirt since I don't like any of their new ones. Really wish I did but none of them are that appealing to me unfortunately.

Also work sucks. I sympathize with @Larry David not sure if it's work related but regardless hope your day gets better.

 

It was great!

The opening act was pretty terrible I thought - they were called SMSHNG HRTS (smashing hearts, not smushing hurts) and the vocals weren't good at all (in my opinion). They did a really bad cover of Change (In The House Of Flies) too.

OLP was really good though. They billed this tour as "20 Years of Clumsy" for the 20 year anniversary of Clumsy, but they didn't play the entire album, just a few more songs off it than they normally would. I was pretty happy with the setlist overall though, not too many surprises really.

The new songs sounded pretty good and the one unreleased song they played (The Ballad Of A Poet) they dedicated to Gord Downie.

Looking at some recent setlists it looks like they've been playing One Man Army most nights and I would've liked to see that, but I'd gladly trade that for In Repair.

It's my dad's last concert for a while - he's had some ankle problems over the past year or so and he's actually getting an ankle replacement in December so he'll be out of commission for a while.

 

This is the first one that will actually stick. It did snow for like an hour that one day but melted as soon as it hit the ground

I was shocked to see no "One Man Army" I assumed that was played at every show. Having said that, when I saw them they didn't play 4am :(

4am was definitely one of the highlights.

I just took a look at the setlist when I saw saw them the other time back in 2002:

It was a promo show for the Gravity album so it was pretty heavy on that, but I think that's a pretty solid setlist. Would've liked to hear Right Behind You or Thief last night too.

I'm going to be dressed as a "Business Panda" today which is me in a suit jacket and a panda mask. Basically all of my costumes since grad school have been ______ Panda, like Job Interview Panda or Grad School Panda, or last year's Batman Panda.

This evening at my dad's house I'll be Darth Panda if I can still find a red lightsaber.

God I'm so fricking creative

 

Definitely a little heavier on the Curve/Burn Burn material. I guess that makes sense since it was a festival though. Looks like a solid show overall though!

 

What the fuck dude. That's ridiculous to say the least. As said above I would instantly go home. Luckily I work on a campus right now and this would never happen.

 

Curve had JUST come out. I would love to see "All For You" from Gravity live.

If they are still together in 5 years I could see a 20 year Gravity tour. It's their second best selling album in the US so it might make sense. They played 3 songs off Gravity last night so toss another 3 or so songs from Gravity on the set and you're good to go! I'd probably pick All For You, Do You Like It, and A Story About A Girl.
