It's pretty much just Zelda and Mario I want. I suppose I can just play all the Zelda and Mario games I never finished for N64, GameCube, and Wii

Yeah, same here. I'm really only interested in Zelda and Mario... and probably Mario Kart... and I've heard good things about Splatoon and Golf Story.

 

And like others are saying, I've heard that the Switch Mario and Zelda games are not only the best in the series, but I've heard multiple sources describe Zelda as "the best game EVER"

 

it's the best sandbox game out for a console. the amount of player creativity it affords is truly impressive. as a zelda game? kinda weak. they should have had more classic dungeon crawling. still good, just different in that aspect.

 

all of those games are great. stoned mario kart is still a blast.

 

If I could get the system and a couple of games for like $250, I'd probably bite the bullet and do it, but $300 +$60 per game and another $60 for a second controller is more than I want to spend rn.

 

yeah it's not cheap haha. and the thing with nintendo is that their games hold their value. you won't see sales or good used prices for a long while

 

Zelda was cool, but I don’t know where I would rank it. It did a lot of interesting and incredible things, but I still feel kinda weird about it and not fully in love with it like most

Yeah, I'm thinking after Christmas, I might be able to find something a little cheaper, but like you said, it's probably not gonna go down much for a while.

I've been out of the video game scene for a while. Grew up with most of the Nintendo systems (NES, SNES, N64) but kinda dropped off not long after that. I think the most recent system that I've played for more than a few minutes is probably PS2. When everything went to the two joysticks where you have to use one to look up and down and the other to move, I kinda fell out.

 

Anyone know if there is a place you can rent a Switch? I know some of the video stores used to rent out game systems.

It is beyond frustrating, and my family enables her by not confronting her about this shit. She’s avoiding me because I don’t live back home so she doesn’t have to see me, but I still have family in the Bay Area and there’s no way she could just cut them off too. I honestly think she’s delusional. I mean, at 30 you should be doing something...anything, but she thinks that retail and food service jobs are beneath her and I’m just like....you’re a fucking idiot. Anyways, thanks for letting me vent.
