I can't wait to sit down with this endlessly and just listen to all 13 tracks on repeat. I just know that every complete listen is going to be such a transcending experience... Wait is almost excruciating!

 

i sang along to Piano Player and Soft Animal loudly this morning and they emotionally wrecked me i don't know how i'm gonna handle the full album, i will be dead

 

Home is getting me through some emotional shit right now.

Do you reckon we'll get another song before release? Based on the dates of the last two I doubt it, but saw something in the depths of Twitter saying about waiting for the 'next song' so who knows

Just says when you buy the record you will get these two songs and then the rest when it's released. Makes me think that they won't release anything else before then, but I'm sure it means nothing lol

True, how is the record sitting with you now that you've had it for a while? Are you going to any of the tour dates?

 

Yes, that's just standard bandcamp. If they release a third song it will auto change to 3 tracks.

 

i wake up with the songs stuck in my head a lot, haha. i still don't know what it means to me tbh. it's been the opposite of immediate, but not in a bad way. it grabs you just enough for you to want to stick with it long enough to figure out what your personal connection to it is and it requires time and effort to reveal itself fully thematically. i like that though.

yeah i am! i'm going to the LA date, hoping it sells out soon bc i feel like something cool might happen if it does. was gonna go to the fresno date as well but idk now. what about you, are you seeing them on this tour?

e: also the album only makes sense to me when i'm in a particular state of mind. not necessarily happiness or contentment, just whatever the opposite of anxiety is. it's kinda hard to explain.

 

Considering there's 28 pages of comments in here it's probably redundant of me to say it, but Soft Animal is SO GOOD and possibly my favorite song of this year so far.

 

yesterday me and one of my best friends hiked a mountain overlooking a pretty sweet valley and pitched a tent on the edge of a cliff. first song i played at the top was "Goodness Pt1" and it was the best thing ever. its one of my favorite songs ever, i already have so many memories / feelings attached to it.

(if any of you are having deja vu, its because i posted in this thread before something similar, but this time was way cooler because we actually slept on the mountain.)

Great thoughts! Yea I'm going to the Philly date at the union transfer. Actually a pretty big rook for them, to put in perspective mewithoutyou and menzingers coheadlining that venue. What I love is that the tickets cost me the same as they did when I saw them at the first Unitarian church in December ($12) which is great. It will be interesting to see how much goodness material they play since the record will be out by the time that your rolls along.

 

But nothing will top their first one for me. Their music has evolved into something very mature and beautiful, but their first record cuts me deep. I was in a weird place when it first came out and it hit me hard.

 

You won't know for probably a year where goodness stands that being said, I understand people's connection to the first record.. For me it was a reawakening of what I needed to be focusing on as a music listener and a musician
