I really need to listen to that Alvvays record. Heard good things about it and one of their songs came on XM over the weekend and I enjoyed it.

 

i gotcha, that sounds cool. i wish more of their discog -- at least one more album -- was a little like Clarity though. they do pop rock exceptionally well though so i'll dig into it eventually

I can understand that, and I definitely remember being disappointed with Bleed American when I first heard it, in part because it wasn't more like Clarity and in part because it wasn't more like the song "Bleed American". But I've come to appreciate it on its own merits and now I actually like Futures more than Clarity.

 

Been too busy jamming the new Used record. Kidding but no haven't gotten around to those ones yet.

 

I would say they might be better listens once it starts snowing, but you're in Canada so it never stops snowing.

I do like JEW though, I've seen them live twice and were very good both times.

one time with Unwritten Law (who my wife really liked way back)
and then 2 months ago with Incubus. JEW stole the show for me though. Incubus just was kind of boring, probably because I wasn't high.

 

I have not listened to the Used in probably 10 years or more.

but also the used album is probably an easier listen than those, because those seem like meaningful albums and thoughtful songwriters instead of just writing shit.

that's why it's hard for me to listen to that stuff, it's just too heavy.
