I've been that friend without even realizing it. When I was confronted about it, it really helped me get my shit straight and prioritize the people in my life better. You won't know unless you try. I hope it all works out.

so strange how it works. with this friend, Idk we've been friends for over 10 years and hes supposed to be the best man in my wedding but lately seems like he doesn't want much to do with me, Idk... strange night.. I'm a couple of pumpkin ales deep and am halfway through the Julien Baker album so I'll stop sharing, just one of those nights.

I'm sorry about your loss of friendship, its really tough.

yeah, it's unbelievable really. I'm rewatching the 2nd season and the first 2 episodes are awesome.

 

Losing friends sucks, I'm sorry guys. Last year when I got invitation to my "best" friend's wedding, I was very upset. He was the best man at my wedding, and I wasn't even asked to be in his wedding party at all.

Most of my friends are single without kids, so everybody just kinda stopped wanting to hangout with me, the boring dad.
Oh well, fuck 'em

 

This sucks about all you guys losing friends. I haven't had any close friends since high school so I haven't really lost any either.

 

I'm officially drunk and listening to sprained ankle.

 

I have two friends who live in the same state as me lol, but both of them live a few hours away so we just try to chat a lot during the week. The rest of my friends are online and it's hard being so far away from them all. I had one friend all through high school but we had a falling out as well as drifting apart. Anyway! I'm happy being friends with everyone here!

 

@bachna84 so I went to follow this recipe.

• 1/2 ounce triple sec
• 1/2 ounce light rum
• 1/2 ounce gin
• 1/2 ounce vodka
• 1/2 ounce tequila
• 1-ounce sour mix
• 7 ounces Cola

But I didn't have any triple sec, or sour mix. So I substituted those with lemoncello, haha. It was still pretty tasty though.

 

Tonight I asked someone who I once thought was my best friend to go see Glassjaw with me in about a week near us. He made the excuse "Can't. Need to buy a new car" when 2 weeks ago he went to the city for a different show and is going out this weekend with his girlfriend, my ex, and her newer boyfriend. I'm only 26, but I never expected to lose so many people I thought would be around for the long run. I never thought my closest friends would constantly make excuses to not be bothered. Not trying to one up you by any means, I just have a mutual understanding of the feeling.

I try to take it as a learning experience. I socialize more, I push myself to be more open to new people coming in the picture and not being so attached. I only ever disappoint myself in that aspect. I feel like over the course of my time here, I've made better friendships in these forums than I have with the people I once would take a bullet for.
