That setlist is so Mark-heavy, I feel like they'll even it out more now that Matt is comfortable.

    Things have changed.

Is it really that Mark-heavy? I think they did a pretty good job of getting Matt involved. The bolded ones are the songs that were either Tom songs or heavy split vocals:

    Feeling This
    What's My Age Again?
    The Rock Show
    Up All Night
    Going Away to College
    Down
    I Miss You

    Happy Holidays, You Bastard
    Dumpweed
    Wendy Clear
    Always
    Don't Leave Me
    Easy Target
    First Date
    Dysentery Gary
    All the Small Things

    Man Overboard
    Reckless Abandon
    Carousel

    -----
    Violence
    Dammit
    Family Reunion

  3. Dammit is such a great closer. Why change it up

Yeah, the above mentioned was one of my points. But another point I was making, was it seems like the bands are getting worse. This is my preference and opinion, but ATL and ADTR will never hold a candle to blink or Green Day.

I think besides those" buzz words" you take offense to, the actual argument is there and easy to get in a column form.

Not that I can see that happening with First Date. Always was a single too so I can't imagine Mark giving up on that even though it always falls flat live.

Yeah, I hate "First Date" but it's never getting cut. I think they keep "Always" too, since it was a single.

For this set, I would cut Up All Night, Holidays, Easy Target, and Family Reunion and presumably add new songs.

I would cut The Rock Show and First Date, not just from the set, but from the Zeitgeist lol. Hate those songs.

It's a fine opinion to have, but at least have some perspective. Everyone's naturally going to be somewhat biased towards what they grew up with. It's likely that someday, in a probably not so distant future, we'll have a new generation of bands that aren't taken seriously for the exact same reasons, and people will say things like "these bands aren't real pop-punk like ATL, Yellowcard, Mayday Parade, etc."

if I never heard any of the singles again, it would be too soon

I could see All The Small Things moving to encore based on it being a Tom song and them maybe trying to get a big crowd sing-along going.

I could see them cutting Always, I believe they only played it once pre reunion because of how hard it is to pull off live with all the additional instrumentation going on in the recording, so that would be my guess for the first single they'd cut.

  15. I still love The Rock Show! Hell, I still love All The Small Things and What's My Age Again? too...

  16. I wouldn't mind them cutting:

    Always
    First Date
    Violence
    Up All Night

But really, they'd need to cut a few more than that in order to fit all the songs that I would LOVE to see...

Exactly. That's what I'm saying. (There is plenty of perspective in there btw.)
Some people just come from different scenes, that is all

Didn't they post a pic during rehearsals recently where you could see "Feelin This" at the top?

I think that's an OK opener. I really don't know what else fits there.

I'm so over "Dammit" though. I skip it heavily and I left my spot in the front of the crowd during that song because I wanted to beat the crowd/don't care for that song. I understand it's necessity though. It SHOULD be there.

Would love to hear Not Now, but I dunno how Matt could do that one.

From those first shows Matt played, I thought Violence was the best they sounded. I'm dying to see that live. The others I agree would be good choices to cut. I love Always but it kinda slows down the set and I assume they'll play this new ballad they have.

Using 22 songs as my number (same number in the set on the previous page), I have come up with a set I would enjoy that could be fairly realistic. I will preface by saying that I am light on some of the real early material and some of the extra songs. I completely removed DED and Neighborhoods, because of the numbers crunch. I left the hits and tried to carve out some spots for new songs. Finally, I tried to keep some album balance among the most popular ones. Stockholm Syndrome was the last song I added and I debated about making that a new song slot or another old one. Lastly, I just tried to spread the new songs out since we have no idea on tempo, flow, etc. Feel free to pick me apart haha.

    1) Dumpweed
    2) Pathetic
    3) Bored To Death
    4) Don't Leave Me
    5) Every Time I Look For You
    6) Always
    7) Anthem Pt. 2
    8) Wendy Clear
    10) What's My Age Again
    11) New Song
    12) I Miss You
    13) All The Small Things
    14) Josie
    15) College
    16) Stockholm Syndrome/New Song
    17) Down
    18) Man Overboard
    19) Feeling This
    Encore
    20) First Date
    21) New Song
    22) Dammit

    Don't be a jabroni

I can kind of see why you say that - but the fact that my friends and I listen to Blink on the boat all summer long on the lake growing up just getting stoned and tubing and shit totally makes me love those lyrics, but hey I know those don't apply to everyone but at least they applied to me haha.
