More the point I was making was he has been the backup all year behind an oft-injured recently retired out of shape QB. So in not trying to find more depth there they must have felt he was good enough if cutler got hurt.

hes one of the better backup QBs in the league. Inconsistency is what you get with backup QBs, or else they'd be starters

While he certainly did not play well last night, that wasn't all on him. the OL is terrible.

I had this game marked as an L all along so not really concerned about it to be honest

A loss is one thing....a 40-0 loss is another beast, imo.

  4. Damn just saw that cheap shot from Alonso - no place in the game for that.

And they wonder why NFL players resent them so much.

    Shocking, right?

It'll be neat when all the free agents pretty much just start signing with SF, PHI, and SEA exclusively.

This one is far more fascinating to me. Troy Vincent ran to be NFLPA president a few years back. Now he's goodell's bitch:

If thats how the first meeting went, and Reid stood him up anyway, then future meetings are gonna be f'ing chaos

My hope is that the McNair thing gets a ton of shit and they backtrack

I would like for McNair to sell the team

Maybe Mark Cuban would like to buy one

McNair’s abhorrent choice of words will get a lot of attention, but almost all of these owners are part of the problem. How about Snyder just making up that 96% of fans want players to stand?

Dolphins Twitter is MELTING DOWN this morning, holy shit lol

my favorite taek that I saw was someone said they'd rather have Philbin than Gase

  18. I know a 40-point loss is hard to swallow, but did Phins fans think they were good beforehand?

From what I have seen on twitter.....yes.

Should be sent to NFL Europe.

It’s just the blatantly racist way the NFL has framed this issue. They say over and over again that fans want players to stand. Sure. White fans. A lot of white fans. Not every white fan. They attribute the protests to declining TV numbers, nevermind the billion things that go into declining TV numbers that are affecting everyone, not just the NFL, but what about those boycotting the NFL because Kap has been blackballed? The NFL does not care one iota about their black fans. It’s all presumed whiteness in their audience, and that’s who they’re catering to. Because it mirrors how they think.

And after the owners intense dislike of Kap is noted as an accepted parameter of these meetings, not one more word should be said about Kap’s ability as a quarterback or scheme familiarity being a reason he’s not playing right now.

  21. Woof - I mean the dolphins were due for some regression this season and losing Tannehill didn’t help but Gase shouldn’t lose his job over it

Losing Tannehill is valid, for sure but Cutler was Gase's GUY!!! lol.

we must not follow the same people...

most Dolphins people I follow are cynical (see my comments re: Philbin). I don;t think that they thought the Dolphins were GOOD per se, but I think we were sick of being told that we were a bottom 5 team by all the DVOA/analytics crowd. Last night of course doesnt help that.

not to mention, the Dolphins have won something like 13 of their last 17 games, with ~1/2 of those coming without their starting QB

at some point, it has to go past "they are just lucky wins"

I will eat a literal crow if Cutler comes back and is good but until then this was one of the most laughably stupid things I've ever seen in sports.
