I’m honestly in shock that Fell in Love is beating out The Worst Part, as well as Antonia (one of the more skippable songs on the album) is obliterating Calling On Cops. It’s like watching the 2016 election results roll in.. WHAT IS HAPPENING

I love Point of Extinction a ton, so it's sad to see that go. But It Had to Be You is the first song that made me realize how much I love this band, so I had to choose that.
Everything else was a pretty easy choice ha

 

Will listen to this as soon as I can at work and report back with the definitive result for each matchup.

 

It's a bit sad that The Worst Part is losing but it's a bside so it's expected. It's fucking crazy that anyone thinks Calling All Cops, easily the worst song on the album, is better than the glorious Antonia.

 

I did have a hard time voting against The Worst Part. Really a great song.

 

Quick and dumb question unrelated to MCS but does anyone know why every time i try to post a pic or gif it always give me a photo icon with an red X over it? To this day I’ve never been able to post a pic on this website unless it’s from insta.

I first have to say that I love the b-sides from this record, they're so good and it was hard voting against them, but they were just up against songs I like more.

Fell In Love Without You

It Had To Be You (This was tough, I really like both of these songs, but IHTBY edges it out. I love those nonsensical lyrics in the 2nd verse)

Antonia (This was easy, but I don't hate "Calling All Cops" like others seem to. I just love "Antonia", it's probably a top 5 MCS song for me.)

This Is For Real

Even If It Kills Me (I like the idea of "The Conversation" more than the execution. A sparse, piano-driven MCS song seems like a great idea, but the lyrics and vocal melody here are a little clumsy, and there's nothing for them to hide behind given the sparse instrumentation.)

Last Night (I've never been big on the acoustic version of FILWY, and I love the way "Last Night" builds.)

Broken Heart (This one was hard for me, because I'm not huge on either of these songs, but "Broken Heart" is more of the classic MCS song and I'm not a big fan of how "Where I Belong" just kind of ends.)

 

The lyrics and melody in The Conversation are some of Justin's best imo.

I agree on Hello Helicopter, Fell In Love Without You, Antonia, Even If It Kills Me, and Last Night.

I would've voted for Point Of Extinction, Can't Finish What You Started, and Where I Belong though.

Pretty impressed that Even If It Kills Me actually won unanimously. I'm not sure I've ever seen that.

For some reason voting on this album made me really wanna listen to My Dinosaur Life

 

Fell In Love Without You. I like both songs but Fell In Love Without You is fantastic and I think it's possibly their best opener.

It Had To Be You. The lyrics in parts of this song are incredible and really set a bar for the album lyrically early on.

Even If It Kills Me. My favourite song ever.

Broken Heart. I love that repetition and slight change in the lyrics ("But I'm getting used to it/You have to get used to it", becomes "You never get used to it/You just have to live with it"). I love both songs but I think Last Night will win this match up so I'll go for BH.
