Gotcha. That was a concern. How does it run in handheld mode? And have you played anything like FIFA or 2K? Not a tremendous fan of either, moreso just curious about how they run.

 

Runs beautifully in handheld mode. I've played a few indie, BotW, Mario Kart, and 1 2 Switch and they've all run flawlessly. I myself haven't played any sports games, but I know someone who has 2k and said it's fantastic.

 

2K plays really well both handheld and docked. It does however take forever to load between games/cut scenes during MyPlayer, but I'm 95% sure that's a 2K thing and not a Switch thing. Actual gameplay is smooth though.

there is a software update for mario for those that preloaded. be sure to get it done so you don't have to wait an extra 2 minutes when it unlocks!

Is there much of a "tutorial" or does it just throw you in the game?

 

Kinda don't feel like dropping $70 on a pro controller right now, has anyone tried one of the horipad wired controllers? I haven't used a wired controller in years, and its a long cheaper despite the few differences. Plus, there's a cute Mario design controller at walmart.

Terrific. Won't do it until I move but definitely after. Really sounds like Gamecube is coming to the system too. That's all I need haha

I think the music that is there is fantastic but I just remember so much of the game being almost silent and then listening to the soundtrack after I had completed the game and there was just so much great stuff I don't think I even heard. I have most other 3D Zelda soundtracks memorized by the end, ha.

yeah, earlier this year I kinda figured Summer/Fall at the latest. At this point I think it's going to be a while. Especially with how popular the retro consoles are

That being said, talked to my girlfriend about how badly I wanna play Mario and she flat out suggested (without my input) we run tight this week and buy a switch tomorrow. It's moments like these that I'm incredibly grateful to have found a lady with the same reverence for the 64. Fingers crossed!

 

My copy still hasn't shipped, though that isn't too unusual. At worst I guess I spend the night playing Wolfenstein II and watching Stranger Things.

I decided to cancel my physical edition last minute and go digital...just a little over two hours left.

People will be playing Spla2oon for a while right? I haven't had a chance to even think about getting it with me not getting my Switch till BOTW came out but I'd like to eventually
