I never preordered but I'm assuming there will be enough physical copies to get on day 1 right?

 

Yeah all the BotW criticisms here are pretty valid.

That said, I haven't touched any other open world game yet, and I'm a bit afraid to try. Being able to scale everything and not having the jump button be the only way to solve verticality is the gamechanger for me.

 

I know the Pro Controller would be nice to have, but is it worth the $70? Thinking about picking one up for the best Mario Odyssey experience

 

Yes. DO IT. Nothing against the joycons, but Pro Controller is the way to go if you're going to play on a TV.

 

Pro is legit one of the best controllers ever.

 

Yup, I absolutely adore the Pro Controller. Worth every penny.

Did anyone actually give any specific criticism other than "it has issues"? lol I, for one, was super bummed when I beat Ganon and literally nothing happened. It just reset you before you entered the castle. My biggest complaint.

 

Story/dungeons. No god damn easily accessible green tunic. Also the lack of music was a shame.

 

Yeah, what SpyKi said. Some Zelda players prefer having longer dungeons which I kind of missed too. Another one is the lack of enemy variety, and probably the boss fights weren’t as memorable.

The reset thing, yeah it bugged me as well but I think it’s way down in my list. For some reason I keep thinking that the December DLC will address that one.

Most of this is true, I guess, but it still feels more restrictive. It's crazy how much I noticed it.

 

Anyone having issues with the the final tournament in Golf Story? I had no problems up until now but winning this one seems impossible. The difficulty spike is insane.

 

It probably took me about 5-7 attempts to beat it. The wind and green slopes are brutal.

They really should have put 2 on there instead. It's a much better game all around

 

It shouldn't be a shock that Mario is getting 10s out the wazzoooo.

 

It's not my favorite Zelda, but I've put 200 hours in and I'm foaming at the mouth for the next DLC.

Getting lost in this big open world Hyrule really does live up to the dreams I've had for the past 25 years. Maybe it sounds silly, but just exploring and testing the limits of what the game would let me do is why I loved playing it so much

 

I regret not finishing Zelda when I had the chance. I played many hours (probably close to 80), but I was at the point where I was going to the castle to fight Ganon and stopped playing since I heard once you fight him, you're kind of done. I knew DLC was coming so I figured I'd just wait it out and finish everything at once. But I don't really have any interest to go back, especially with so many other games out and coming out.

 

I knew it was coming, but it's still very exciting to see. Just such a wonderful year for Nintendo fans.

 

That's understandable, maybe in 2 or 3 years you'll get the itch to start the game over again and finish it. That's happened to me a few times
