What does neogaf mean? I've always thought that was a weird/bad name.

I've been stockpiling PS+ games for like three years and I can't wait to play them all next summer

 

It was originally the forum for a news site named Gaming Age (GAF = Gaming Age Forums), eventually separated/relaunched as NeoGAF.

 

the gaming age post about neogaf yesterday was wild. owner has been holding that in for years.

 

Looking forward to Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus especially since I am getting this version https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0749QX2MX/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 which is inexplicably cheaper than the standard version despite coming with more.

 

Nobody was buying that version probably

 

If that is the case then fine by me, get it for less than the standard version without losing out. Can now get the season pass separate and will still be saving money, win win

 

Now people will probably buy it and the price'll go up lmao

 

It does come with the game, right? I've seen special editions that come sans game.

really it's ubi's fault, their games all are price dropped so hard and fast. i will be getting fc5 at launch tho no matter what

 

Idk, it sounds like visceral was a wreck, and the game was in dev hell. Just my impression from what I read last week.

 

These days, on the macro level "waiting for sales" definitely isn't a thing because games go on sale, games go on sale because "waiting for sales" is a thing. It's been researched. The video game industry is pretty broken. We'll get through it though.

 

I buy day one for most

 

i am never ever the "wait for sales" guy but the black friday sales have been the same for about 10 years so it's just smart to wait one month

 

yep. there's some stuff i'll still pick up on day one during the holidays (nintendo stuff, games i'm dying for like wolfenstein 2 this year) but, for example, AC games go on sale, without fail, every black friday for $30-40. i can wait a little while to save a few bucks, especially when i'm already drowning in my backlog as it is.

 

I haven't bought a physical game since May 2014.

my stance on digital v. physical has some layers to it.
- multiplayer games/"living" games: digital. always have it ready to drop in and complete daily challenges or w/e.
- major single player titles: physical. stuff like mario odyssey, breath of the wild. the kind of game i would never want to part with, but also want to be able to lend to friends
- everything else: physical. fractured but whole, ac origins etc. i'll beat them once and likely be done with them. my lgs gives $40 store credit on any $60 title that is two weeks old or less. practically pays off the next game.

 

I never buy physical at all anymore. Don't see the point in the clutter.

 

what i mentioned: trade in. i'll beat south park in 10 hours and get $40 back for it.

 

If I'm really interested I buy as cheap as possible (therefore usually on disc) on day one or close to day one as possible, if I'm only somewhat interested I wait for a sale, but like a deep one (usually digital). On the whole I prefer physical versions because, call me crazy, I like owning things.

 

I never buy digital. Brand new out games are around £10 more expensive digital rather than physical. Am I willing to travel to a store 10 minutes away from my house and have to swap discs every now and then to save £10 (usually more)? Every single time.

Until digital is the same price as physical, or until it is forced on me, I will never go digital.
