Apple Says iPhone X Will Be Available for Walk-In Customers at Stores on Launch Day

Who actually goes to stores anymore for things like this?

Wife and I currently operate under a family share plan with her mom in North Carolina, while we moved to Florida a couple years ago. There's no way to get the new phone shipped from Apple to us in Florida. Apple will only ship the phone to the account holder, so my mother-in-law has to ship the phone down after it arrives to her on launch day.

Long story short, I would prefer to preorder for in store pick-up.

 

Oh, I get reserving one for in-store pickup. I meant who just walks in expecting to get an iPhone on launch day now having not pre-ordered/reserved.

 

It makes sense to have some available in store on launch day to help create more hype and press with the mainstream news.

Yeah, the line for those who have reserved a phone is always really long as is, but I can't imagine the "walk-in" line being fun. I'm sure they're put on the back burner as far as priority goes.

Is anyone else having freezing issues with iOS 11? Reliable apps such as Instagram and Twitter cause my screen to freeze and I have to hard reset my phone. It has happened 6 times in the last two days.

If I have one big technical complaint about Cook’s era, it’s that iOS has progressively gotten worse. iOS 4, 5, and 6 were great and never had as many bugs as iOS 7 - 11. We’re on iOS 11.0.3 just one month after it was launched as well. Something needs to change.

 

iOS 4-6 had lots of bugs. The iOS 5 battery/unlock bug was a huge one and took weeks to get a fix out. iOS 6 also had a battery bug and all kinds of other issues (uh, Maps). Getting point releases faster is a good thing. They used to sit around for months without getting the fixes.

 

Heh, remember when people in the news thread didn't like when I said it was a supply constrained device and didn't believe me. Yeah.

 

Every year I decide to upgrade, and I'm actually paying attention to the new iPhone, is a year with "supply constrain" of the greatest significance Apple has ever faced.

Every time I believe it, but then I am able to get a day one order in without much issue.

Pre-approved for an iPhone X Silver 64 GB. Ready to press a button or two at 3:01 AM EST on Friday.

 

I had the freezing issue a lot the first week or so after upgrading. Thankfully it's stabilized now.

I haven't had anything other than the "grey" color scheme since my 4S. Thought it was time to change it up, and I'll actually be putting it in a case this go 'round. I've never used a case with my iPhones.

I think I'm going to buy this for certain occasions. I typically never use a case, but this one would definitely serve a few purposes in certain situations. I just wish they made it in Saddle Brown.

Also, I was going to go with the silver/white version, but seeing the two-tone in these recent real world leaks has made me change my mind.

 

My pride was shattered back in July when I shattered my first iPhone screen because my dog pulled the leash at precisely the wrong millisecond.

Also, I've always used a DodoCase Durables Wallet, so I would have to buy a wallet of some sort anyway. The official Apple Leather Folio bridges the gap well enough.

Is there going to be a SIM-free option for the X? I’m trying to select an 8 right now on Apple.com with Sprint as my carrier and it’s saying my plan is not eligible for an iPhone? Currently using a 6 on the same plan though.
