Hmm, I wonder what time On Demand sites are going to get it. Might watch it tonight if it shows up at a reasonable time. I'm pretty sure Amazon is like 2 or 3 Mountain time.

Didn't realize Super Dark Times was available on demand, going to have to add it to the list after It Comes at Night, Haunters, Be My Cat, Raw, The Cube, The Babysitter, Gerald's Game...wow I have so much to catch up on.

Speaking of Netflix, anyone watch 1922 yet?

It releases tomorrow. I haven't heard anything about it being a Netflix film, but I could be wrong. Everything I see just says VOD

Edit: found this "o… yeah. The press release goes on to reveal that Netflix will be releasing “Creep 2” on the streaming service later this year. In the meantime you’ll be able to get it on various VOD services." 'Creep 2' Gets an October Release Date - HorrorMovies.ca

I watched both the '76 and the 2013 Carrie movies because I'm a masochist
no I wanted to see the remake because I'm doing female-directed horror movies and felt I needed to see the original first
and seeing the shower scene in the original which is highly sexualized, versus the '13 version where they're all wearing underwear and towels made me think oh this is actually a good idea, the remake also humanized Margaret more and Chloe was better at being vulnerable than I hoped, I also thought the re-imagining it for the social media age worked really well
Sissy Spacek's performance was obviously much better and it's clear why the De Palma version is an iconic classic, I just feel like there's not as much to say about it that hasn't been said already

Went to Michael Myers' house, the Halloween Hedge, American Horror Story House, Nancy's house from Nightmare on Elm Street, and the Thriller house today. Super fun time. We also checked out the Suicide Bridge in Pasadena and the Labianca Murder house.

In what way was the shower scene in ‘76 sexualized?

Super Dark Times isn’t quite Mean Creek but there’s some great stuff in it

there's no reason for them to all be naked, I know it was a different time just with all that's been going on it was a bit unsettling, not necessarily calling out De Palma or anything

    Doing fine. Prestigious

I really hated this movie. Absurdity just to be absurd.

Very well regarded. I think a vast majority of the people here found it entertaining. A few had minor disagreements, but I’m struggling to remember if anyone disliked it completely.

That's cool, I was a big fan of it. Actually went in with low expectations too, but I think they nailed the book without getting too convoluted into the mythos of IT or King's uncomfortable NC-17 scenarios.

I thought this was an excellent directorial debut if anything, a sign of things to come. A very unique film experience imo.

Creep 2 was pretty great. A little bit funnier than the first, some Leslie Vernon vibes.
