Lol right!? To each their own. I can’t fault her for wanting sex, especially since we met via Tinder. I basically told her about how back in the Bay Area I had a really good friend and we would make out and cuddle but there were zero feelings and we were just best friends who happened to be physical with each other without any pressure and that that’s what I’m looking for. She didn’t say she was completely opposed to it, she just thought it was a little weird, and I suppose it kind of is tbh

Can I ask how you guys have any luck on tinder/dating sites? It might be because I'm not straight and not attractive but I've never even spoken to anyone, let alone gone on a date. Is there a secret?

 

I am pretty new to the whole online thing, so I’m not one to speak, but what are you looking for? Are you just trying to hook up or do you want to be in a relationship? ‘Cause I feel that something like Tinder is mainly utilized for sex and therefore more shallow, whereas a site like OK Cupid is fine tuned to whatever you want it to be.

 

First off I thought I posted this in the Dating thread lmao, but I'm talking more about dating/relationships. I'm good at hooking up lol, but finding someone to hang out with/go on dates with has not been successful at all. I have an OK Cupid account but I've never found anyone. Idk it might just be a combination of my suburban location, average looks, and high standards. Appreciate the reply!

This is insane to me. Growing up like 15 minutes away from San Francisco, I often forget that there is a whole country between the coasts, which is pretty foolish on my part. I mean, I understand that people are bigoted obviously, but the thought that it can still be legitimately dangerous to not be straight is beyond me. Not like the Bay Area is a utopia by any means, but you know what I mean.

This. Im usually not as sexual as my partners and they take it so personal and i understand to an extent but at the same time im who i am too we gotta meet in the middle, not just argue or assume something. Im just closer to asexual than being driven by any extent by sex. Its sometimes incomfortable cus theres times in the past its like coerced or damn near guilted out of me. Im not stingy, i just dont always want to.

 

Have you always been on different pages, or is this a new development? Cause I feel like in my relationships there have been ups and downs. Sometimes we’d just be on it and it’d be amazing, and other times we’d just be on totally different spectrums

 

I feel this. My sex drive is pretty low and a lot of times it feels like I enjoy the emotional sides of relationships more than the physical sides and it causes rifts pretty easy because it's hard to explain being incredibly attractive to someone but not want to have sex.

 

In some way, we've always been on different pages. Like, the way we view sex in general and such. And yeah I think the "honeymoon stage" of sleeping together ended a long time ago. Now he never seems to want to have sex. I pretty much want it all the time. So, it sucks. It's funny because we aren't exclusive (like I said, the way we view sex is different) and I could theoretically find it elsewhere but I only have interest in him and I have no desire to be with anyone else. Just another way we view sex differently...
