Got the first two Shins albums, Cure’s Disintegration, Mansions’ Doom Loop, and a Bowie live album as well as Science Fiction/Daisy/Leaked Demos 2006 all headed my way very soon.


Also preordered the analog remaster of Loveless and grabbed a handful of tapes (After Laughter/new ATCQ/Big Fish Theory/1975 s/t/new Alvvays) from that UO sale. Hit up my local stores for tape store day, overall v solid weekend

 

Great news for those that couldn’t get the initial run. Gonna make a lot of people happy.

But my personal request is for Beggars.

 

The way that is worded makes me think they might release the first two volumes separately from the third and fourth - similar to how they released the CDs. I hope the 4x10” box set gets repressed though. That was a quality set. I’ve regretted selling mine for a while now.

 

This is my white whale. To hear Night Diving on vinyl is a dream of mine.

 

Finally picked up Sleater Kinney’s No Cities To Love, Boys Night Out’s Black Dogs 10”, Jimmy Eat World’s Futures, and The Strokes Is This It yesterday.

Just left an Emarosa show tonight and picked up 131 on vinyl. Someone is winningggggg

 

Black Friday Record Store Day list has been released.

Also Motion City Soundtrack have an anniversary edition of Even If It Kills me on pre-order. /500.

The As You Please tour alternate cover is real weird. I'll post a picture of it later, I haven't seen it online anywhere. It's on altpress' instagram story currently. It's a drawing of a man with four women behind him. His tie is red with the white stars from the normal cover

 

Recently picked up a used copy of the self titled Saosin album. Hot Topic variant. Super glad to finally get my hands on Now Now's "Threads" when I saw them last week

 

Brand New - Science Fiction (Reb/Blue 2LP)

 

I love PJ Harvey so, so much and it infuriates me that almost a majority of her discography is just not available for less than 150 bucks a pop on vinyl. Rid of Me is good enough that I may still go for it, but man, I feel like she has to be due for some reissues.

 

I’m in New York just now and planning on going to a couple of record stores on my visit. I’m going back to Scotland on Monday though. I’m assuming that if I were to buy any records that I will be charged at the airport to take them home. Correct?

 

When I went to Vegas last year (flew back into Heathrow) I picked up a few records that were on sale at a hot topic and just shoved them in my hold luggage bag, had no problems and didn't get charged. I guess if you've got a ridiculous amout it may be a problem but I bought 3 or 4 and had no issue.

 

Thanks for that. Wasn’t keen on sticking them in my suitcase. They’d never survive that, haha. I assume you meant you put them in hand luggage yeah?

 

No worries, I did mean my suitcase, I just packed them between my clothes and had no problems. Just thinking about it though I did fly back from Brussels earlier this year and had a few records in a plastic bag with me as my hand luggage and had no problems either.

 

What stores are you checking out? I would at least recommend Limited To One, Turntable Lab, Rough Trade, and Earwax.

 

Thanks, I have rough trade and limited to one on my list. I’m actually in Brooklyn tonight to see A Wilhelm Scream. Can’t wait. Was maybe going to try and get to rough trade while I’m there tonight

Yeah. They are great live. I’ve seen them 3 times now. Saw them in Sydney, Glasgow and now Brooklyn. They were phenomenal last night. I also got a picture taken with the whole band. Bumped into them on the street before the gig. So good. Got Brian’s Setlist as well. Haha. Great night.

 

Received the Indie Exclusive of Science Fiction on vinyl today. Awesome set.

 

Yeah the quality of the jacket surprised me. Really nice and not flimsy at all.
