Can relate. Except that for me, I'd be staying at my nan's house (my parents were strict as I was growing up and didn't trust my sister and I to be home on school holidays until I was 18 ha) and if I heard friends of hers that I didn't like, I would not get out of bed until they were gone

 

Nothing. Lost in thought tonight.

The allure of tranquil silence that evenings hold is such a frustrating parental paradox. The longer you stay up to enjoy it, and the precious hour or two with your S.O., the more chaotic the yells and craziness will feel the next day. I've always hated the need for sleep, but am beginning to reach an age where my body cannot get by without either 6+ hours of it, or 6+ cups of coffee.

No matter how great work is, no matter how great the kids are, all day you look forward to that sacred time when they're asleep. Often times, after you clean up everything and wash dishes, it's time to go to sleep. So you need to make a decision: are you willing to sacrifice a good night's rest so you can stay up and watch This is Us with your wife? There's no right answer.

 

I agree with all those except QOTSA. I love Villains so much.

 

i feel like theres more artists who did have at least one dip off album than ones who didnt. fan biases disregarded hard to go and bat 1000, no? lol.

not to say there isnt any that have but damn thats hard.

 

when is work great? haha. also I'm still working now. I've been working pretty much nonstop aside when I'm sleeping 6 hours per night, and the 3 hours after I pick up kids from school and put them to sleep.

not fun.

hoping this will be over soon. This project feels neverending

 

I was on Chorus.fm all day at work and we had a potluck.

Work was great.

 

Figuring out how and when to leave someone's place is the single worst thing I have to do in my life. If someone yawns I'm like oh shit they want me gone NOW. But when someone mentions being tired/having work in the morning that should be the one obvious one.

 

So I'm not the only one here who gets the "can you tell them apart?" question. Yeah I'm pretty sure I can tell which one is the woman I've been with for 16 years haha

Though there was that one time I was super buzzed in a dimly lit bar...

 

See that one I still like, I just mean it doesn't come close to Like Clockwork

 

yeah I guess the days where there is no work to be done at work are good days. sometimes it's hard for me to get off chorus and focus when there is work. but the past 2-3 weeks I've been nonstop working and it's really starting to get to me.

 

Apparently there is a monster in my 2 year olds room tonight. She's not going down:(

 

Ok that makes me feel better! Haha I still have to spend more time with Clockwork. I just know Domesticated Animals is one of my favorite songs of the year.

Dude it's been 3 months of 65 hour work weeks. The worst part is they're not hiring anybody else for the vacated position, ever. As this becomes more prevalent nationwide, I'm stuck wondering when the hell did this become sociologically acceptable? None of us knew we were signing up for this crap when we were kids.

Hang in there, you'll make it. Do what you can to provide, tough the rest out. Good things will come to those who wait. Drink beer and enjoy company when you can until they do.

 

thanks, yeah I know it's not permanent at least. I have plans to look for a new job next spring I think. especially after i got a new manager a few months ago...
