Positive Songs is by far my favorite Frank Turner album.

Yeah I agreed those tracks are excellent. Also "Song for Josh" really hits home for me. It was really cool of him to record it live at the 9:30 Club for the album

interesting, it never really "stuck" with me. I return to England and Love Ire allll the time, less frequently Tape Deck, but still more than this one. I've never been huge on Sleep or Poetry either.

    oh what the hell

England --> Love Ire --> Tape Deck --> Poetry --> Positive Songs --> Sleep

Sooooo 10 alternate versions of old songs, 1 new song and a DVD of Show 2000? Interesting, but still itching for new material haha

That first match-up killed me. I love Stay Vicious and have always viewed these songs as partner songs. Super bummed to be voting it out this time around.

I'm not a huge fan of his, but to me, it was his most consistent and best sequenced record, and had the most songs I loved. I'm not all that big on the two albums everyone adores of his.

I like Tape Deck Heart, but think he made some bad calls on what to put on the record vs. what to keep as b-sides. There is a better album there than the one he released.

    agreed on this 100%

"Anymore" & "Oh Brother" have no business on that album and "We Shall Not Overcome" & "Gene Simmons" are much better candidates for album tracks.

Also, idk if this is a hot take or not, but I cannot stand Four Simple Words and it's always one of the centerpieces of his live show. Never liked the song, just didn't feel like him at all.

I'd keep "Oh Brother." I really love that one. But "Anymore" is so dull. I also do not like "Four Simple Words." I would swap those two out.

I can see that. There are songs on it I don't like (i.e. tell tale signs, anymore and Oh Brother), but IMO the remaining ten songs on the album are the strongest songs he's ever written and, yes, the b-sides aren't to shabby either. Also the production is fantastic on Tape Deck Heart.

I love Four Simple Words, especially in a live context. My gripe with it though is it's placement on the album. It's put in a rather Awkward spot. Also, low-key best track on the album = "Fisher King Blues"

    Some tight match-ups happening here.
