Today I went into other threads and used the "Show Blocked Users" thing to view their posts and holy hell am I glad I use the block feature now

I don't think I have anyone blocked... now I have to go check

 

I've never felt the need to block anyone, I'm very privileged

 

Pretty sure Garrett has me blocked - never did quite get to the bottom of that when it was brought up.

 

Only time I've ever blocked people on sites is if they were racists or the annoying edgelords that dance around that.

 

I don’t have anyone blocked but I’m also fortunate that it’s pretty impossible to be a comedy nerd or punk fan and be a bigot at this point so the discussions I frequent are very cool

 

Just woke up from a dream in which Donald Trump was super jealous of me because he wanted my girlfriend so he planned to kill me by shooting me while I was in the bathroom. So he walked in the bathroom and I jumped on his back and tryed hitting in the face, all the while he’s trying to to screw on a silincer. We fumbled into the next room, me still on his back, and thankfully, my (imaginary but I wish she was real) girlfriend bludgeoned him over the head with something and he fell to the ground. Then I hit him over the head too for good measure.

Yeah same here, most of my interests divert me from those sort of people but like.. some of the underground shit I like has fans who are problematic and such and I just don't wanna be around that. Probably why while I do love Black Metal I'll have stints of listening to it HARD then not at all for a year or two cus when I'll go digging for new bands there is some problematic bands and sides of that sound that I don't frequent but like the skinhead punks there is that ugly side of that world that can't be just turned a blind eye to so eventually I'm just like ugh... forget it lol.

 

My blocks have a few different tiers:

1. Problematic people
2. People who make me uncomfortable
3. People who are overly negative (not like pessimistic but in the high and mighty "You all suck I am the greatest and no one can refute me")
4. People who I just don't wanna read the posts of

 

For #4 it's not personal, I have lots of friends I don't have added on social media because I just don't like the posts but it doesn't mean we're not friends

 

They're just sexist not racist so it's okay

There are so many comedy fans/comedians I've talked to that have busted out the "women aren't funny" line on me

It's infuriating, especially when 90% of the up-comers I've gotten to witness are hilarious women and 90% of the upcoming men I've watched resort to the same stupid tropes

 

No just saying it sucks that anything that brings me joy probably isn't a safe space for women
