People do evaluations of prospects, if a team takes a player that I think is a 5th round prospect in the 2nd round it's pretty easily to judge that. Of course I could be wrong and the team can nail it, but saying you can't judge drafts before the players even play a snap is inane because if that's your position why even follow the draft at all?

I think the most fun thing is being completely wrong on a guy. It seems like a ton of people hated the watt pick in that draft and it turned out to be pretty good haha

One guy I'm keeping an eye out here is De'Runnya Wilson. He took a shit ton of flak for an abysmal 40 at the combine, but I know there are still some people who think he's a top 15-20 WR in this class due to size and ball skills.

Yeah, and he's very raw. Could be a deadly redzone threat. Everyone loves the basketball-turned-football player.

No one here is a pro football expert, save Anton (blessings be upon him), but analytics is the entire thing that makes the draft fun.

The Falcons taking Dez Southward is a great example. He was awful at Wisconsin. Just putrid. And he was projected as a late third day guy because his combine numbers were good. Then the Falcons selected him in the 3rd round ahead of much more well-regarded defensive backs like Bashaud Breeland, Terrence Brooks, and Phillip Gaines.

Southward was terrible and got released after two seasons in the league.

I would not want an impressionable young QB anywhere near Jay Cutler. The guy spent the better part of his career with footwork that looked like Fred Flintstone bowling.

Only in the last couple of years have I noticed Cutler's improved footwork.

I think they were on the lookout for a QB in this draft. They were very interested in Kevin Hogan. But Ryan Pace is about BPA, evident in the fact that they took 3 potential safeties. Next year they will for sure draft one though.

When he came to Chicago, it was still so bad. The fact that he could still sling it was a testament to how phenomenal his arm strength is.

The revolving door of OC and QB coaches probably didn't help. I mean Mike Tice had no business being an offensive coordinator. And of course there was Mike "Tell him I said fuck him" Martz.

I understand the hate on the Eagles draft and I get it...I'm not a fan of it either but at the end of the day, it was a very unsexy draft and those typically do not get high marks.

The Wentz thing is obviously reserved for future judgment as all draft picks are but if it works out and he's the franchise QB this team has lacked since McNabb, then you make the trade fifty times out of fifty. It could blow up in their face and if it does then Doug Pedersen and Howie Roseman are both gone so that is the silver lining of this going terrible.

But addressing the OL was something that had to happened and they did that. Wish they would have prioritized a WR at some point which they did not. We will see how it all works out but as down as I was on this team before the draft, I think I might be even lower on them right now which I wasn't sure was possible because I don't remember feeling like this as an Eagles fan since the late 90s.

Jeremy Cash is signing with the Panthers. Are they just hoping they could melt all 125 corners they drafted/signed and reform them all into one Josh Norman?

Also...Vernon Adams going to rookie camp next weekend with Seattle. So they are bringing Adams and Boykin, huh? Nice.

  23. Cash is a safety

  24. I'm more excited about signing Garrett and Cash than I am about our draft picks. Although I am a big fan of the Sanchez pick.
