I've got an extra ticket to Bleachers Wednesday. Someone road trip to Rochester. Who would pass up an opportunity to go to a concert with me?!

 

If this was even remotely possible for me I'd be there. Bleachers is one of the best ever.

You know I went and saw on the weekend in Regina? Joe Bonamassa. Median age at the show was like 55

Regina has notoriously bad concert promotion. Saskatoon the next biggest city 2 hours away gets all the good shows going through Saskatchewan. Hence why I keep missing Jimmy Eat World.

 

And then our municipal government decided to take all our tax money and build a brand new (admittedly awesome) football stadium that would double as an outdoor concert venue, in a city where it SNOWS HALF THE GOD DAMN YEAR

 

he's got a financial stake in it too as soon as he starts selling those shirts. this is all marketing to him.

 

This has been a topic I've struggled with heavily the last two years. Monday still has my head in an extremely pessimistic, dark place. If death is the one uniting factor that humanity shares, and it is, then what are the means to that end? Transcendence and higher faith can provide purpose to some in life after death, but is a volatile topic to discuss, causing dissent due to flawed/confusing/trivial interpretations when you delve deeper. But, if you don't believe, then the weight of whatever "purpose" we can find in literally any emotional or physical joy is essentially lost in temporary, fleeting nature...ending in the same mortal common factor. You can appreciate these moments on a small scale, but large scale really makes me wondering what the point is to all of this.
