    This album is really great

And as far as Good Nature talk I really didn't like it at first but I love it now. Definitely a record that can change depending on your mood and the weather though.

I listened to Turnover again yesterday outside in the sunshine and it's definitely a great summer/sunny day album. I think it suffered by being released so late in the summer.

Stealing my own comments from another thread, this is a really good fall, alt-rock record though. Dark, but never too heavy, and with some surprising pop sensibility. At times, at least in isolated moments, it reminds me of Brand New, Manchester Orchestra, O'Brother, and Pianos Become the Teeth.

The Turnover record is fantastic, and the new stuff is great live. Excited to hear this now.

Flowerchild just connected hard on 3rd listen and is now one of my favs. Only song I'm not really digging so far is I Forgive No One.

Not sure why people are comparing this to Good Nature. Two pretty different bands with very different goals.

Starting to get worried that this isn't getting released this year. That means it will be 4 years in between albums for them.

  6. Turnover and Citizen are not that different hah. Also, the argument between two albums can almost always be boiled down to "they were trying to accomplish different things" but that doesn't mean they can't be compared to one another in terms of how much people liked them.

If there's a chorus.fm music forum bingo card, this conversation needs to be added to it

Yeah I would imagine Pianos either announces their album this week before the MWY tour or that they wait until next year

What?? I Forgive No One was a highlight on first listen.

And them and Turnover are different I agree, but they're very closely associated due to both being on RFC, touring together often, and pretty much being best bud bands.

Probably their best album. Still not very good.

    They don't write good songs.

if you don't think "in the middle of it all" is a good song, then we probably have very different musical tastes haha.

I'll still never get coming into a thread of a band that you don't like and saying they are bad bc they don't write good songs.. There's plenty of stuff I don't like so I just don't go into those threads, doesn't really add anything to the discussion. it's fine that people do it, I just don't understand the point of it.

"doesn't write good songs" doesn't really add to the discussion though. Do you want to explain why? Do you want others to explain what they like about it so you can try listening for those specific things? It's fine if you don't, but if that's the case then I'm with Teebs on that.

idc enough and no I don't want people to tell me what they like about it. I've listened to this band enough to know everything they do.

I really appreciate how "balanced" this record is. What I mean by this goes beyond the variety of sounds across the tracks.
They use a lot of cool effects/riffs sparingly instead over-indulging in them. They have great restraint.

Feelings not hurt, just wondering what the point of it is. It's cool though, at least you gave the album a shot. I'm not sure how many new fans they'll win over with this, but I think whatever sound they were striving for on the last 2 LPs, this is the album that they've been trying to write and they executed it really well.

The point was, I was listening to this album and posted while having a cigarette. I used to want to like this band, but every song they have is a swing and a miss.

the bridge of fever days is probably one of my favorite moments on the record, that arpeggio is so cool, what is it an augmented chord?
