I'd like to believe in Wheaton but he's had 0 catches in two active games. But again, do you blame him (is he even fully healthy yet?) or Glennon in that situation. He's a deep threat for a QB who can't throw deep. The problem is Kendall Wright is essentially the #1 receiver at this point. He's a fine slot/#3, with a healthy Meredith and White.

Deonte Thompson has defied odds making the roster three years in a row. Who even is Tre McBride? And I have some hope for Tanner Gentry but he's a UDFA that runs a 4.6, doesn't have special teams experience, and has now passed through waivers twice.

As for TE, Miller is a great pass catcher. But Sims is mostly a blocker and despite the wide open TD, Shaheen is very raw.

 

I guess you could make the argument that mariota didn't have any good receivers his first year either but i totally get it

 

Isn't Cairo Santos decent? Why wouldn't they just put him on IR instead of waiving him?

 

This is probably the first year Marcus has had a decent WR group

They signed Butker from Panthers practice squad which sucks. He’s good.

I know Shaheen is raw but he only saw like 8 snaps on Thursday. His sample size is small but he looks like he should be seeing an increase in play time soon. Why not get him in there on our 2 TE sets with Miller and have some big bodies for Mitch to throw to.
