I'm not faulting your logic or desire to talk about these topics. I think some people are just put off by analyzing a band that they've grown up with in a manner such as this.

That's fine, I'm not pressuring people to answer. Like I said, I grew up with them too, they were the most important band in my life for a decade, without exaggeration

Any chance you could do this and make the "L" in blink the same color red as California?

To give it some alphabet continuation

Probably nothing, but I have post notifications turned on for the blink-182 band Instragram account, and they posted something that was deleted almost immediately. Heard the notification go off while I was in the bathroom, checked it as soon as I was done, and whatever they posted had been removed quickly.

Like I said, probably nothing, but who knows.

  7. This is another reason I am way, way more on board with some uplifting sounding (even if lyrically they're not) Blink-182 songs. They make me happy to hear, at a core level, and things needing to be in drop-D or whatever all the time can become exhausting to listen to. I don't dislike a lot of Neighborhoods tbh when I listen to it, but it doesn't make me excited to keep playing it and want to come back to it. It doesn't feel like summer, or really give me any "feeling" at all.

"Bored to Death" makes me smile. That by itself is more than I can say for most music.

I'll take My Shame is True and Kuts over any AVA every single day.

  11. Hahah, that's amazing.

But I'm the guy that has more photos of bands up in his place than I do family though.

I never could quite peg which band Adam's Song and Every Time I Look for You reminded me of until now. It definitely sounds like +44 though.

I know I'm pages late, but man that Tom statement was weird. Were the shots a Feldmann really necessary?

So does Adam's Song on the backups in the chorus, but we aren't going to sit here and pretend it's not a Mark song are we?

  21. Tom DeLonge Comments on New Blink-182 • chorus.fm

By and large I'm happy for Tom. My biggest take away is that. First and foremost I hope he is happy. (Even when I think his logic and reason in terms of some other things like the supernatural should be discussed, that can be set aside).

I also think that his mentality toward songwriting and what Blink182 should sound like is why I don't really like his songwriting or like where they went as much on the last two albums. If he won't let Mark and a producer pull him back, then I don't think the songs are as good when they indulge his every whim. It's the musical equal of George Lucas and the prequels. I feel basically the same thing. I truly believe this: I’m glad to see Tom is working on his own projects and is finding happiness in all of his art and different endeavors. I also think Blink-182 is better than ever. I think it’s ok for both of these things to co-exist.

  22. I feel like you hinted at this earlier, but you've heard other new blink songs outside of BTD, right?

    Things have changed.

Singing lead vocals in the verses is different than background vocals. They share vocals in "Up All Night" – whose song is that? It's not so cut-and-dry.

  24. I have. I can't say anything else though about them, or even how many, or really anything else though — I'm sorry, I promised.

Bouncing off of @Jason Tate 's comment (for my first comment on chorus!):

I think it's becoming more and more evident that there are some interesting legal elements coming out of the shadows. Tom's "I'm still in the band" comment to Rollingstone, combined with Travis' and Tom's statements seem to indicate that the comment on Reddit about a lease may be correct. Tom is allowing them to use the brand, as long as he's allowed to "come back" at a certain point in time.

It's obvious Tom doesn't want to do Blink music. Mark and Travis do. They're keeping things friendly because they can at least meet in the middle and allow all 3 members to have what they want. I think we're going to get a really awesome album out of Blink this summer, and after Tom's other projects underwhelm we'll see him back in the band in 3-4 years. And interestingly enough, none of this is a bad thing. Everyone wins. Tom's a weird guy. Blink is great. Skiba is great. Chorus.FM is great.
