100% agree. We can do the same thing for the artists with "good crowds" as well. The more information the better!

    Machine Head Winter 2018 tour:

San Francisco Bay Area metal band Machine Head has announced a North American tour in support of their forthcoming album, Catharsis.

Vocalist/guitarist Robb Flynn comments: "It's been far too long since we've demolished venues in America, we have had an awesome and productive break writing our new album Catharsis, but now it's time for Machine Head to go melt some faces! The reaction to our last 'Evening With' tours in America were nothing short of incredible, so once again these dates will be 'Evening With' and will see us performing 2 1/2 to 3 hours every night with no opening bands. We loved performing as an Evening With for you Head Cases, and you guys loved it as well, the freedom to do whatever the fuck we wanted for as long as we wanted every night was liberating. It's not what everyone else is doing, and frankly, there are not a lot of bands who could even pull it off, but Machine Head pull it off, and we are excited as fuck to do it again. We are carving our own path here, playing by our own rules, and as an artist, it's the best feeling in the world! No festivals period, no 45 minute slots, no supporting some stupid DJ, no parking lots in a rain storm, The Head will only be "Headlining", so come on down and rage!!"

Killer live band! Haven't seen them since they opened for Metallica but they sounded great. I'm not a big enough fan to sit through a 3 hour set though but good for them for doing what they want to do and still gaining new fans.

The first time I saw the Menzingers it was one of the best crowds I've seen. Everyone was super happy to be there, moshing, dancing, and crowd surfing but nothing egregious or disrespectful. I saw them last week in Maine and the crowd was fucking horrible. Standing in the back (like 15 feet from the pit) and a guy punched my girlfriend in the neck ON HIS WAY to the pit. Was a ton of douchebaggery all around, which was a bummer because she'd never seen them before and all I'd done leading up the show was rave about how fun Menzingers crowds are. That show was definitely an outlier; their crowds and TWY are always my favorites. I've really enjoyed State Champs crowds as well.

Machine Head were actually one of my fave bands several years ago. I loved Unto The Locust when it first came out. Pretty good to see two dates near me in Atlanta and Birmingham.

EDIT: I still am a big MH fan

i likemachine head but i'm not nerd fan so 3 hours is a little much. However machine head was fine with with having other bands on tour with them up until that tour they were suppposed to do with epica and children of bodom got canceled because of low ticket sales in 2014.

Thinking back, the last time I saw them live was that Mayhem Fest with Disturbed and Godsmack and their 2nd stage crowd was massive. I looked at the venue sizes of the last evening with tour and I don't believe they sold out the Stone Pony (which is a 1,000 person cap). Now they're upping it to the 2100 Playstation Theater in NYC. Granted it is an NYC show and the Pony is a pain to get to but if this flops, I can see them doing a co-headlining run with a band like Trivium to promote the new album. I still can't understand someone standing and moshing at a metal show with 1 band for 3 hours. I just saw Sir Paul last week and he played for 2 hours and there were parts where I was drained from watching.

Interesting to me that Pierce the Veil is listed as the hard opener, rather than a co-headliner. Not sure if they were just never as popular as ATL over seas or if that speaks to them having lost some steam.

oh my god, I'm back on my bullshit Prestigious

PTV's last headline tour here was their biggest venues yet, ATL are just more popular and always have been.

They weren't on the house party tour. At my date, they went on before PTV.

House Party was rotating support. PTV and ATL flip flopped who was direct every night. At the time, ATL was still bigger.

PTV's last UK tour was 1500-3000 capacity venues(5000 in London) and the smallest venue on this tour is 7500. ATL is headlining this for a reason.

This could bump PTV's popularity a lot in the UK, That's a huge jump in venue size

  22. All Time Low is more popular over here in the US too. Biggest venue on PTV's last headliner was around 3500 cap vs 5500 for ATL. Their So Wrong, It's Right shows at Starland Ballroom are considered "intimate" whereas PTV did a "normal show" there on a co-headliner with Sum 41.

Also, I think they're doing a short intimate run in December. A date leaked for December 9th @ The Chance in Poughkeepsie, NY. Could be an underplays tour, so they'll play some more deep cuts but not all of SWIR.

I wish that ATDI/DFA tour was in the states. Both were so much fun at Riot.

Head North have "tour announcement this wednesday" in their twitter bio right now, so the Trophy Eyes tour is presumably getting announced tomorrow.
