Yes, somewhere around there will do. You could honestly just end it at 3 and it would be fine.

  2. I think I've watched it four times front to back. (Last season maybe only twice.) It's incredible. Finally topped my list after the last rewatch.

Then we would lose Dinner Party. Can't do it.

  4. Would have been an incredible end as well. Jim asks out Pam. Her incredible shot. Boom. You just made a masterpiece of three seasons. Unfortunately they didn't.

  5. Bottom tier episode compared to the best to be honest, so many non-believable moments. (Way better dysfunctional relationship tv shows too.)

That entire show stretched the meaning of believable in a world meant to be real! That's such a weird criticism for that episode, but yeah, 5-7 is probably more fluff than anything before it. It's just a comfort show for me and my wife.

Yeah I'm due for a rewatch. Its basically flawless. And I don't know if a show with better acting across the board.

Also agreed on The Office. I can't stand that show past the first few seasons. They couldn't write characters consistently. Ed Helms goes from dick to likeable to dick again. They make Pam unlikeable..... yeah sooooo many better shows

The dinner party is one of my favorite episodes. I would only cut the seasons when Michael leaves, but I still found the show somewhat enjoyable after he was gone.

Seasons 2-7 of The Office are great, 1 and 8-9 are fine. There are tons of great moments and episodes after Season 3, find it hard to believe people are writing off all of that.

  11. I have ranted about the horrible turn that show made so many times. It's like a cautionary tale now for what not to do with a great show. Thankfully Parks and Rec showed up and showed them how to make a fantastic show season after season ... even getting better into the end.

The good moments post s3 are nowhere near as good as anything 2-3. The show peaked in s3.

  14. Season 6-7 makes The Big Bang Theory look funny in comparison.

The show actively focused on broader comedy starting in s4 and it changed the show. I would argue it was less funny as it was less intelligent. Not that there wasn't silliness in 1-3, but it wasn't the driving force of the comedy. It was far more subtle and clever. The broader they took it, the less funny it was to me and the worse the show got.

I just rewatched The Office and stopped after Michael left. I don't really agree that the show stops being good after season 3, but it's also very much my "comfort" show, and I'm attached to it (and therefore less critical of it) because of that.

The only good part of s7 was them getting Michael and Holly together, FINALLY.

lol gimme a break, of course there are some duds here and there but you're just ignoring so much if you claim those seasons are all bad

  19. But the genius was in the awkward believable-unbelievable. That line between "no way" and "I know someone like that." They lost sight of that line.

  20. Finding a good episode in those seasons is way harder. Throw a dart and 80% of the time at least you'll find a really bad episode. And hardly any touch the first three in quality.

I've been so invested in that show for years that it is very hard for me to identify the crossing of this line, but if it was crossed, I can't really believe it happened just after season 3.

Luckily The Big Bang Theory is already funny :)

I just think the show started to change then and was not as good.

S5 was crazy stretched out. They had so many episodes and so many extra long episodes. That was like peak NBC where they would give extra long episodes randomly. It showed and did not help the show at all.

S4 was the writers strike and they were kind of out of ideas. In a commentary track they said they broke up Dwight and Angela to bring in Andy just because Jim and Pam were together. Not because they had a good story, just because they wanted a new relationship ship to replace the Jim/Pam tension. SIGH.

  24. lol. Better joke than that show ever wrote.

  25. Yep. The writer changes and talent drain were so obvious as well.
