Yesterday I caught: Four Year Strong, The Hotelier, Chon, half of The Story So Far, NIN.

NIN killed it, as anticipated. What an insanely talented band Trent's put together. TSSF... I don't understand any hype at all. Chon shredded their instruments and I was in awe the entire time. The Hotelier were great, but their drummer seemed like he learned their set an hour before. Played with zero confidence and it showed. FYS were super fun.

 

Yesterday was very meh. I had good hangs but band wise just not really my day. The Hotelier were great and some bands were fun but I'm much more excited for today

After show last night was awesome though. NFG is the best

I'll be in a Jeff Rosenstock Worry shirt today if anyone wants to say what's up!

Can't wait for the pizza party tonight too

 

Nine Inch Nails was unreal last night. Still kind of in awe.

 

Yeah I figured something was up. Found it really strange there was nothing from the new album. They played Roshambo though so I was really happy. Love that song.

I'm at the stage for Smith Street now there's like 15 people here

 

Also RVIVR are a refreshingly great punk band, wow.

 

Slaves was cool, ready for Smith St! Trying to take it easy to start the day, wanna be in top form for the pizza party tonight!

 

Are there always this many cops at the festival? I haven't been to Riot Fest in a few years but I never remember this much police at any music festival.

 

Smith street was so gratifying

 

Currently watching Knucklepuck play a hometown show, crowd is loving it

 

The tree line behind the Rise crowd is an absolute life saver

 

Wearing my heynong man tee and I have got a pleasing amount of heynong man's (heynong men???)

 

Sat there for most of Smith Street and it was amazing. Now doing the same for Bayside.

Really wish I could have gotten tickets to FOB tonight. Hope that set doesn't pull out anything crazy.

 

Also double what to the FOB surprise set comment. Troll post? Reference to the HOB show? I need to know!

I saw them at Chicago HOB earlier this year, opening for Mayday Parade. And the crowd was wild. So much fun.

Edit: I went through a lot of different websites and not even a hint about a secret set. I guess be on the look out for a gap on a side stage.

 

Decided to head home early today since tomorrow will be a long day at the fest. Probably for the best since the heat was really starting to get to me today. Smith Street Band and Bayside were both awesome. Knuckle Puck had a bit of a rough start but their last few songs sounded great.

 

If I didn't want to really see Taking Back Sunday I'd be calling it a day too probably. That sun was rough today.

 

Oh wow, can't believe they released more! I would have sent someone over to grab them for me. Bummer! But good looking out.

I left after NFG. It was miserably hot all day. Wu Tang's crowd was fucking massive.
