  1. Oh my god this is the first R-rated movie I ever saw in theaters, I would've been 14. I remember my friend's mom scrambling to cover all of our eyes when that girl runs around naked (and in 3D) for the first like five minutes of the movie. Deeply uncomfortable at the time but hilarious to think back on now.

hahaha I was actually kinda shocked at how much of her nudity they showed. I didn't remember it being that much! My dad is a big horror buff so I spent much of my childhood trying to awkwardly look away or pretend like I did not know what was going on when there'd be nudity or sex. I know I watched this in 3D with him but I can't remember if it was super awkward. Probably lol. I rooted for that woman to live tho cause that trucker she slept with was trash.

Also the friend I rewatched it with couldn't tell the difference between Jensen Ackles and Kerr Smith so I constantly had to explain everything to her cause she was so confused and I was like now sis they don't even remotely look alike lol

Favorite Carpenter is Prince of Darkness. Not a popular opinion, I know.

Seems like they're also going to ignore H20. I have mixed feelings. H20 is perhaps the best Halloween film outside of the original. If that movie becomes nullified in the timeline, that kinda sucks. But then again, as a self contained story, it ended everything. Michael would be dead. This franchise is so messy.

I thought that only Halloween 1 and 2 were in the timeline for the new film?

I loved mother! but like Requiem for a Dream I'm not sure I could watch it again

Yes, I had assumed that H20 was canon for this new movie since H20 ignored parts 4 and 5 and was considered a direct sequel to 2. Again, this franchise is messy.

    Doing fine. Prestigious

I'm seeing mother! probably Monday or Tuesday. I'm excited for it. I hear it gets to be frustratingly chaotic and tough to follow. That's not something that dissuades me personally if true. Like any Aronfsky movie, you know you're in for a mind trip.

I'm a big fan of Aronofsky when he sticks to his artistic guns so I expect I'll like mother.

As for Halloween, I think a lot of it comes down to accepting the conventions of the genre as they were just being developed. Soundtrack and atmosphere remain near untouched, though.

Man, I know I'm gonna be in the minority here, but I rewatched Big Trouble a couple months ago, but it did not hold up at all, in my opinion. I loved it as a kid, but I found myself thoroughly bored throughout. I wish I had just left it in the past so I only had fond memories of it.

Also, the ONLY Halloween movie that matters in MY book is the one with Busta Rhymes
    ;-p

That's fair! Haha, I've never seen it so I have no opinion, I love silly action but I'll let you know if I agree

Oh, nice! Very curious to here someone's opinion who is just seeing it now. I don't think it's awful, I was just underwhelmed, where my younger self was thrilled haha

My horror watching doesn't really see an influx come October, but I do tend to watch more movies I've seen before as opposed to ones I haven't. That said, I don't really have any go to horrors I try and watch every year at this time. Just whatever I feel like watching really. I've kinda been in the mood to rewatch the Final Destination flicks though. I might make two or three nights out of those.

  18. A local church just announced a triple-feature on next month's Friday the 13th. The Exorcist, The Thing and Trick r Treat with "the Paranormal Pastor" telling local legends in between. $20, limited seating and it comes with concessions. I'm all over it.

Whoaaaa I'm so jealous. I thought the outdoor sleepover viewing of Friday the 13th I'm going to was cool but I'd much rather do what you're doing, haha

I don't think you're allowed to watch rated R films in a church. I could be wrong though ;-p.
