gah. everyone should listen to that album at least once. it should be a law.

 

Aronofsky is just like Gaspar Noé, von Trier and Refn to name a few provocateurs they just love to make audiences squirm and unconfortable. Walk outs is something that they relish

 

I think you'd like it. It's a show about minutiae. It's like Seinfeld with swearing, if Seinfeld was about George. All the old seasons are on Prime.

I'm about 4-5 episodes in and I'm hooked! It's hilarious.

Been there, but probably as the hated older brother. We're from the same numbered family count, but on opposite sides of the age spectrum haha

i remember listening to the album for the first time thinking "okay ill brace myself and stay composed through at least a few tracks" and then that part happened and yep

 

Refn is the only name I know from this list. I've got some studying to do.

 

This thread got real heavy, real fast. I'm almost scared to listen. I don't know if i can take it.

 

Requiem, The Wrestler, and Black Swan.

I saw Requiem first, before Pi, thought it was great and then went back to Pi, which I love even more.

I saw The Wrestler after all the hype and thought it was very good, but a little overhyped. I need to watch it again with some distance.

I thought Black Swan was only okay, though some of those scenes are very memorable, so maybe it’s better than I give it credit for.


Back on topic: I thought long and hard about signing an anniversary card to my wife (6 years!) with “all love from me ❤️“.

An album by The Microphones, a different moniker for Phil Elverum, who is also Mount Eerie

 

@DejaMoi "Mount Eerie" who me and @Bloodsucker II were just talking about is a guy named Phil Elverum. The Microphones is his earlier music. the album The Glow Pt2 is an all time favorite of mine and somewhat of a cult classic i guess

 

I saw Irreversible by Gasper Noe about a year ago...definitely a film I will never forget.

 

Lars von Trier is another director who likes to make audiences squirm. Sorry if he's been mentioned already.

 

Have you seen Enter the Void yet?

 

Love is ok too but ETV edges it for me
