I think it's been made a few times.

But it never gets old!

 

Seeing those 3 things listed in that order already made chuckle a little at my desk (i.e. I don't know of said joke)

In A Jar is probably my least favorite on this album. It starts out with some really cool and eerie guitar, but the rhthym section in the verse just does not work for me. It sound corny and like it belongs in a different song. Gasoline rips all the way through.

Vices blew my damn mind the first time I heard it and still does to this day. I do love Daisy though. And it fits perfectly in the the album sequencing.

Bed vs Sink is the toughest one for me. I really love the slow burn feel of bed, especially after listening to Vices. Sink is another loud burst of energy, but I love it in every way The instrumentals remind me of a shootout in a western movie. Both of these songs have some of the worst Brand New lyrics. So at the end of the day it comes down to which set of bad lines bothers me the least? "How darkly..." or the combo of "Champ goes down..." and "she's just a dead spy". Sink wins out. To be clear, I really enjoy both of these songs.

 

people act like it's the worst song they've ever heard when it's not even close to the worst song this band has written (shouts out the abomination that is my nine rides shotgun).

 

I think all of the songs on Daisy are good. But given the matchups, I'm shocked that Bed has doubled up In a Jar when it comes to votes.

Basically, for me, Sink > Gasoline and In a Jar > Bed, and so given that Bed had the tougher matchup, to me, its vote total is surprising in comparison to In a Jar.

But I said previously that this whole thing has shown me that my BN opinions are often outside of the norm. This evidently is one of those times.

 

In a Jar is also a good song, I think it has the misfortune of being tucked in the back half right before Noro though
