I think You Won't Know is the best song on the album...

But I guess based on this bracket Sowing Season > Degausser > You Won't Know

...So maybe Sowing Season is the best? Gonna give them a couple of back-to-back listens before casting my final vote.

 

I agree in the fact that YWK is my favorite on the album so I think it's best. But these brackets always show not everyone thinks the same as you do. You could be on the minority or majority on 'the best'

 

Oh I know! I like seeing what everyone's thoughts on the songs are.

 

Sowing Season

Gonna have to pull a @Jason Tate and base this on how an album starts and how it sets up the rest of the album. This song perfectly lays out how dark and immense this album is, but also includes really beautiful, ethereal moments as well.

Btw I only bring Jason into this because I remember he talked at length about opening songs in the After the Party episode on the Encore podcast. Besides, I love Jesus but Sowing Season still catches me every time.

 

I picked Sowing Season based off my love for it, the fact that it's their best opener on any album, and it's lyrical content is some of my favorite ever from Jesse. I really love Jesus as well, one of few songs I can play fully through on guitar (I know that's not saying much.) But, Sowing Season is such an original track and packs one hell of a punch. Album certainly does not peak there though.

 

He's gonna come in and be like "god damnit they're doing these bracket games again? I already played in the Dude Ranch one. No."

 

"Emo" is still a top 10 blink song.

This game is more riveting than I thought it would be.

 

You should see the Blink and Taking Back Sunday threads. I did the TBS bracket, it was a lot of fun. I appreciate that everyone's been pretty cool towards each other during these, and there are fun random convos/topics that get brought up mid-game

 

That's the point of them. Glad you like it.

You would have loved the Blink one, it was the OG and it was intense in places. There were major Come backs, ties, upsets and every thing else lol
