Lovely. They were one of the main companies that helped me beat my identity theft a few years back, so this could easily include me.

Well, I wasn't exactly clear with that. I did the check to see if I was compromised. They said possibly. I'm debating if I actually want to sign up for the monitoring service, but they're giving me access in a few days if I want to. The whole company seems sketchy though. Untrustworthy. So giving them more information seems like a bad idea. It seemed great at first, but the more I read and think about it.. the more I dislike giving them any sort of business.

If people are hurt by this... and there could be many, I'd expect class action against Equifax. I've read that signing up for their service prevents you from being able to take part in that lawsuit.

Credit reporting agencies are fucked. Their whole existence I find to be fundamentally problematic.

I have to wait too. I don't know if I'll follow through with it. The more I think about it, the more I think going with a different company is a better idea. Even if I have to pay. Maybe I'll do nothing. Hmm.
