Six Feet Under is really high on my list but it gets too soapy in the middle for me to call it the GOAT. Mad Men is easily the greatest show of all time for me but I have yet to start the Sopranos.

I feel like I was good at being a movie person for a while but my list is sooo generic, like something like

Boogie Nights
City of God
Jaws
Rushmore
Big Fish

I'm not that well versed in pre 2000s stuff outside of Speilberg, PTA, and Tarantino

 

With everything that's happened in here, the TV/Movies discussion is what is making you say "wtf"?

 

Me basically, best friend showed me freshman year of high school. If I did a top ten a lot of them would be teen movies probably

 

Oh also my top movies and shows! I probably should update my profile list but oh well. These aren't in order and are mostly off the top of my head

dexter is still decent in later seasons. there are some moments that are dumb or stupid but overall I still enjoyed it, until the last episode of course. that was a turd.

Twin Peaks and Mad Men are definitely the two that I am most passionate about.

Dexter is bad.

 

I think this thread is always the most active after I go to sleep.

My favorite show is The Office, I guess. I don't watch a lot of TV or movies. I think I'm going to switch my Spotify plan over to the new joint thing with Hulu, so that might help.

 

I'm going to have to rewatch dexter now to see why it's so bad, I thought it was great at first then just OK but still looked forward to watching it every week with my wife.

Also forgot sunny on my list which is growing to be a top 20. but since I'm definitely more of a TV show guy than a movie guy I think I'll allow it.

 

Just searched this and holy shit I wish I was still a student lmao. I use both of those very often.

 

Holy shit, I left Community off my list and I feel like a heathen now.

 

It might be a tie.

 

I never finished Community but man.. Season 3 was fucking BRILLIANT

 

I've watched the office more than any show, like 5-6 times through the series.. so thats probably my favorite. I've been through scrubs 4 or 5 times though so its close.

 

People thinking the HIMYM finale was bad is the most overblown thing ever. I mean there was definitely a dip in quality after season 6 and really after season 7, but the finale it's self made perfect sense in the context of the show. Although I could see why people would feel that Season 9 was really just a massive waste of time. I don't know I just don't think there was a great way to end it without going that route.

Six Feet Under questions

Lisa's death storyline - good or stupid? (Outside of the first couple episodes with Nate freaking out about her missing, which are incredible.)

End of Nate's story - interesting or out of character? Personally, I kinda hated it, was never all that invested in Maggie as a love interest.

 

And you guys think my brand new opinions are bad!

You might be the first person I've met who feels this way. For me the show was the best from season 2/3 through season 6.

 

I totally back Office 1-3. 4-9 (except 8, ew) are great on rewatch and overall fine in retrospect but 4 was a sizable dip in quality from 2/3.
