the scales always find a way to level out Supporter

I saw them last month at Aaron and Bryce's new festival in Copenhagen and they had Justin Vernon play "Nobody Else Will be There" and "Guilty Party" with them. Not sure if JV played a larger part on those two songs.

  2. Berninger sounds more weary and defeated than ever before on this

I'll Still Destroy You -- Dark Side of the Gym is just an incredible four song stretch.

I'm so happy that I only listened to System once and skipped the rest of the singles. Guilty Party and Carin absolutely fucked me up and I'm glad my first time hearing those tracks was in context of the album.

Turtleneck is nuts but I like it. It's acts as an intermission in a way

The only I hadn't heard was "Day I Die" and I nearly broke down on the way to work.

The opener is so fucking good. Love that piano.

Lots of people will be talking about the guitar on this, and rightfully so, but I can't stop thinking about the piano.

Day I Die hit me really hard too. Those lyrics are crushing. While I'm in a pretty healthy marriage, I can't say I've never felt like him there. Fuck.

Also agree on the piano being the part about most of these songs.

    The singles were p e r f e c t l y placed throughout the album.. Like.. what the fuck? how?

I disagree. It might end up surpassing it for me but I don't think any record ever is TWICE as good as TWFM

    Where do you rank it?

I was gonna do a partial discography run last night (I've done it multiple times in the past few weeks) but I ended up just listening to Boxer four times in a row.

    Boxer foreva.

No way. Not saying it's better or worse, but no way is it twice as good.
