the piano on this record is absolutely beautiful

 

Everything is so good - the little electronic flourishes all the noodling and guitar solos/riffs the piano Matt's vocals

This could go down as the band's magnum opus

 

Goddamn I'll Still Destroy You - that dark transition is Radiohead-esque

I will say that this record has hit me a lot quicker than TWFM did so we will see what that means with more listens

Nope - I didn't actively seek it out since I'm not reviewing it but now I feel compelled to write something out on my medium page or something

Goddamn the title track is so interesting - very contained electronic chaos in the background while Berninger barely registers above a whisper but lyrically it's incredibly franctic and anxiety-ridden

 

Holy shit, this is amazing. I did not realize how much I need this album in my life. Absolutely stellar.

 

Really loving this btw

 

Historically albums between 7.8-8.2 without BNM are the best albums

The whole album is great, but the final stretch of "I'll Still Destroy You" through "Sleep Well Beast" is untouchable.

 

It's funny cause a lot of people are saying this is hitting them faster than other national records. For me, at least on my first listen, that hasn't been the case. This feels like the first real left turn in their discography and that makes me soo excited. I'm stoked to listen to this all fall!

 

This album really hit the spot

 

Just about to listen to all the songs for the first time. I've not listened to any early releases of them.
