my favorite (and least favorite) part of the brackets has been seeing that people are using vastly different criteria. aside from personal connections to lyrics i'm realizing my voting is heavily reliant on simply how much i like the melodies or a cool intro or something; basically just how many moments in the song get me pumped. others consider things like production way more than i do which i don't understand but hey what can you do

we are nothing more than mannequins Prestigious

I just basically look at each matchup as a hypothetical question "If I could only listen to one of these songs, which one would I listen to?" and then whatever the answer for that is, that's what I pick.

i think its weird when people vote against a song because they overplayed it; that pretty much means thats the better song to you, no? unless you just didn't listen to the other because its very mood-specific or something.

Mostly same here... But I use other criteria to decide why I would only want that one. Lyrics are always a huge factor.

That logic doesn't quite track for me. Maybe it was replayed because you had not the best taste in the world and now you have grown and experienced things that opened your eyes to see why a song you overlooked is in fact far suprerior.

I just don't think amount of plays means better.

    I'm not brave Prestigious

Genuine question for you guys... What do you think the odds are of Brand New touring again after this current run of shows? I really shouldn't blow money on High & Low Fest right now, but I'm also worried they might not play another LA show again.

I have a feeling they'll do one more US tour next year before calling it quits. I have nothing to back this up, just my gut

There is absolutely no way these are the last shows. Band is cryptic, mysterious, and quiet, but they'd absolutely say that if it were the case.

    Update

    Tommy Gun - 24
    Quiet Things - 20

Tommy Gun slightly pulling ahead. @BTDandFeelingThis , how long should this round go? We are nearing our highest amount of voters, but it's a very close match.

Oh I agree with you, but if that's the case then the overplaying isn't precisely why you voted against a song. When I read "because I overplayed it," I think that person is voting against it because they got bored, regardless of what the other song is. Semantics, sure, but a pet peeve of sorts haha

fuck you don't call it before i vote don't do this to me again

OKAY I BELIEVE YOU BUT MY TOMMY GUN DONT

both songs are cool but i think i've voted against Quiet Things every time. I think when people talk about nostalgia, that's the song that comes to mind for me. It's very immediate and it definitely was for me when I first listened to it, but I think over time almost all of the other songs have become more interesting to me. But wow that chorus is something else, that makes it a strong contender and makes me feel bad for my choice. Can't argue with Tommy Gun's bridge though
