Chiodos was the first band I ever really loved. They were so great in their prime. Still can't believe Bone Palace Ballet just turned 10.

It's so funny to think back on the days when having a Craig Owens or Jonny Craig feature could make a huge difference for your band.

Yeah I remember being so into the drama surrounding Jonny Craig when he got kicked out of DGD. I remember the first videos that started coming out with Emarosa and brief stint in A Skylight Drive(?)

My brother in law made me listen to that song this weekend when I said how much I disliked SWS, and I had to admit that one was pretty decent.

i'm looking at the rise records catalog right now and it's wild that i was into that label a ton around release 070 and now they're at like 350 lol

Eva the Carrier and Knights of the Round for me. They had kind of an interesting Coheed meets Risecore thing going on.

Identity on Fire was actually a pretty cool album too. Completely forgot about that one.

I just looked it up and apparently before they ended up with Jag both Jonny Craig and Craig Mabbit briefly took over the band. Craig Mabbit is such an interesting one. It's so bizarre that he started with the Word Alive.

It's crazy to me how popular PTV got. I remember when they first came out and writing them completely off outside of a song or two

that i prevail tour that's coming up is totally fascinating. a band got that their big break on a taylor swift cover a few years back is now headlining over (in order from main support to first opener) the word alive, we came as romans, and escape the fate

escape the fate as the first opener on that tour is wild, the cycle of metalcore bands is fascinating

Been listening to Chiodos now, and Illuminaudio is such an underrated album. I don't just mean underrated by Chiodos fans who were mad about Craig Owens not being there, but just in general. It's a pretty great album and holds up better than any of the bands work with Craig (even though I'll always love those first 2/Craig more).

I'm glad Craig went back because it was great to get to see them a few more times and get a last album, but I would've been interested to see where they could've gone with Brandon. They ended with probably their best song together (New Thought Movement), so it's kind of a shame, especially since OG Chiodos Round 2 didn't really end up going anywhere anyway.

I can't help but think it's Escape The Fate's fault. They went after that whole radio rock ultra-USA centric sound and combine a changing sound with a revolving door of members and it's no wonder fans left.

Also they have been on a decline since their first album.

As for the Pierce The Veil chat, I genuinely think their second album, Selfish Machines, is front to back bangers.

PTV has always been a band where I usually like half to 2/3rds of their album, but the rest doesn't do much for me. Selfish Machines comes the closest for me though. The stretch of I Don't Care If Your Contagious to Disasterology to Million Dollar Houses never did a ton for me though.
