Same, except for when they're not around. Then it's as if all the swearing that would happen throughout the day is compartmentalized into those moments, not good.

 

I nominate @Dirty Sanchez to be interviewed about this thread and his day of fame on Google's front page results for Brand New news in blake's stead.

 

i had no idea until the past few days that people didn't like not the sun; one of the most shocking song receptions i've seen on chorus. the intro and "don't be waaaaaves come and seal my fate marine" are some of the band's finest moments.

 

I like Not the Sun. I do not like Archers.

As someone who was somewhat disowned by the modern evangelical church, the idea of wanting to be a heretic is actually somewhat appealing to me. At least, to be considered a heretic by certain sects of the church. That's just personally where I'm at and maybe not the healthiest approach to all things.

If we want to pull this back into the faith aspect of BN's writing, in ancient Jewish culture, the sea was often used to represent the depths and darkness of the world. It stood for all that was evil and unclean, and especially that which was unknown.

 

Not the sun is an amazing song

 

I can't even fairly compare those two songs. Archers is just way too damn good with such a kickass hook.

I think I dislike everything about Archers. It's the one song on that album I actively dislike.

 

I don't honestly know how I'd rank the songs on TDAG, but to me the bottom two go:

11) Not the Sun
12) Handcuffs

Yes, I prefer the instrumental songs to Not the Sun. That's how serious I am!

The thing is I do enjoy that song a lot. But it really is bottom two for me. Handcuffs is the only song I make a point not to listen to.

Yeah, I know, I suck. I was talking about this with my friend who got me into Brand New and he also dislikes this song lol. Dunno what to say, friends, I actually cannot stand that chorus. If TDAG didn't have Archers it would be 100% perfect to me.

 

Also, those Stubhub tickets are $60 but sold as a pair so

 

Now you're telling me, if my logic is correct, that you think Hancuffs is a 10/10 would recommend song?!

I am shaken with disbelief.

 

I love Handcuffs. Not a top 3 on the album, but I really enjoy it.

 

To be honest, I didn't hear people hate on Handcuffs until this thread.

I mean, Handcuffs is one of my favorite Brand New songs. Never understood the hate.
