It's the same handful of us in here every day, it's bound to happen. I think once they start playing shows and/or the "very limited" vinyl gets released there will be some album discussion again.

 

at least I mentioned that I listened to scifi earlier today.

also at least it's better than talking about shit.

 

I hadn't been in the general thread since August 15th so I decided to read through the posts from when the album dropped. I love all the skepticism haha. It was definitely a good read seeing everyone reacting.

 

So let's start making bets

First show is this Saturday. How many songs from Science Fiction are we guessing they'll play? Bonus points if you guess what specific songs

 

If the crowd is lucky they will play it in full. If we are lucky someone will record it and immediately upload it.

 

There's still so much to dissect in this album, and I feel like I'm figuring more and more out with this album every day.

At the festival I'm going to guess 4 SF songs. The following show 6 and then the main tour I think they do it in full

I thought Juturna was my favorite until I went to the On Letting Go tour earlier this year. Completely blew my mind.

 

I saw Brigsby Bear yesterday and it was hilarious

 

Open with Lit Me Up and work in Can't Get It Out, Same Logic, and In the Water, I'm guessing.

 

Sometimes I'm a monster and listen to Brand New discography on shuffle

 

I saw it a couple weeks ago and I was the only one in the theatre, which was great and also sad lol

 

I think it's probably just because I listened to juturna so much when it first came out after listening to the uniut sessions a bunch when I saw them at a tiny show. and I listedned to BSN a ton when I was in college and I loved the rawness of his voice in that one.

 

I don't disagree, there's plenty there, but I think that can (and should) come later. For now, I just want to enjoy it without trying to figure it all out.

 

Could see this happening to a degree.

I still cringe and get really annoyed just remembering the YFW fanboys behind me at the Austin show last year who kept yelling out different YFW songs. Note that I was sitting nowhere near the stage or pit (I was closer to the back of the amphitheater than the front) and yet they were still either yelling out Seventy Times 7! or Sudden Death in Carolina! (seriously) or loudly talking to each other while playing Pokemon Go. One guy was legit pissed after their set because they played a whopping 0 songs from YFW.

 

Lol yeah it was just playing an a little indie theater by my house and there was like 10 people there

 

Oh I completely agree. I'm just saying there's still plenty to talk about in regards to the album, so I like reading what people are thinking as they keep listening and sharing my own thoughts, but I also like the randomness in this thread, especially since the actual general thread is in ranking mode.

 

They will 100% play Can't Get It Out

 

I'm thinking Can't Get It Out and Same Logic will absolutely be at every show

If they aren't playing the album in order I can see Jesse opening the encore with Could Never Be Heaven
