I know this goes against the grain, but Static Prevails is my favourite JEW album. Love the energy of it.

I just saw you're still not banned and rolled my eyes.

There is a lot worse to be called than "them." Especially on the internet.

Kendrick and Ed Sheeran are such stereotypical overhyped artists.

People will use they/them because they don't want to assume your gender. They or them actually has two definitions, one is a pronoun for a group of people and the other is a gender neutral pronoun. Hope that clears it up for you.

I'm just yanking the bb train cause he said the same statement about Radiohead last I was in.

I said this a bunch of pages back and he never replied or anything.

It's a weird reaction for him to have to someone who's actually just trying to be respectful.

I've certainly been called worse by strangers.

You're like one of the nicest posters in this thread. I can't imagine a stranger calling you anything other than sweetheart

Thrice is a band I've never suggested starting in chronological order

Yea, I would not start there at all. Even if they are into that style, I would push for IOS as first. For Thrice it would depend what that person is into.

you could start with Astro Lounge as a great introduction to Smash Mouths discography because it contains the #1 hit song All Star

Greg im glad we've gotten so much closer through this thread and specifically through our mutual love of Astro Lounge, the sophomore release of american rock band Smash Mouth which contained the number 1 hit song All Star

I didn't know if they were a man or woman. Them seemed logical. Their immaturity never ceases to shine through

When getting friends into The Dear Hunter, I would start them out with the Color Spectrum before diving into the Acts

Honestly it helps me get out some aggression. Most customer service jobs, you have to bend over backwards for the customer. I spend a good chunk of my day arguing and showing people why they're wrong. It's satisfying. They can call me what they want, but once they hang up, they'll still be mad, but I'll be over it because I've got more work to do and I heard there's cake in the break room.

It would probably get to me if I were a woman. People on the phone are so much meaner to women that it really shocked me. And not just men, but other women. I don't get called that many names, but my female friends where I work get called some nasty names all the time. It really put things into perspective. Being a man really is a huge advantage and this job has reminded me that.

I don't remember why I quoted you or what I'm talking about. Happy Labor Day.

It's entirely harmless to ask for a good starting place for a band, especially a band with a sizeable discography. I know I am much more likely to check out and enjoy an artists early work if I'm able to latch onto their "big" or most noteworthy album(s) first. That's just me, and I completely understand that other people listen to music differently, but I don't really see the controversy. My first JEW album was Futures. My first Brand New album was Deja. My first ETID album was Ex-Lives. I eventually went back and listened to those artists early work, liked some of it, didn't like some of it, and became a big fan of all three. I would always be more than happy to recommend a starting place for someone who is unsure of a band or maybe just wants to check out a single album before committing to a discography dive.

I had this CD as a child which also featured the #1 hit song All Star by seminal rock band Smash Mouth, as well as a moving rendition of I'm a Believer by Eddie Murphy as Donkey.

Same with me for JEW and Brand New, but From Parts Unknown was my first foray into an ETID album.
