Season 1 is an honest to god delight. I watched it back a few years ago and was surprised how well it held up. The music obviously was great, but they struck a good balance between witty self-awareness and super entertaining teenage angst. They kind of lost the plot in season 3, though.

I think they are very inconsistent but do have some quality albums

 

Daisy is now my go to angry GSD music pick. Has been for awhile actually.

And imo California is so forgettable. Am I the only one who doesn't give a shit about blink anymore. I was never a huge fan so I guess that may be why. But hey to each their own, I'm not hating here.

Yeah I agree with pretty much everything you said! I'm enjoying the rewatch a lot. I remember the big plot points and most of the characters but I completely forgot about some of these subplots.

I haven't gotten there yet (it's later in season 2 I believe) but there's an episode with Trey where An Honest Mistake by The Bravery is featured and I know at least a couple people who became fans of them because of that.

 

Yesterday was very civil and great discussion about Science Fiction and Handcuffs

Just ignore everything from today honestly. Lots of Blink-182 debates.

 

I'm going to obviously check out any album they release and see them whenever they are in town but I really won't get excited about a new album again (I mean. I'll probably change my mind if they have a killer lead single that changes things up)

 

Yeah, California is laughably bad.

Like I'd rather listen to Encore bad.

Is probably rather listen to your favorite weapon than California but mainly bc of nostalgia

Yeah I mean California was so safe and bland. Speaking of lead single Bored to Death represents the rest of the album well. Lyrics are so unsipired and overall it's just very forgettable. But yeah around Enema, Take off your pants and Untitled I was pretty into them. Never checked out all of Neighborhood or Dogs Eating Dogs. I think if they try to push their sound with Matt it could be something special. They are all talented so why not take chances and try out new things. Goldfinger's new album was better than California hands down imo
