The second verse of Waste really gets to me

 

Maybe Coasta if they ever release anything else one day

 

Luckily I'm going to the second date of the tour so I'm just staying off of here for a day haha

Although I guess they are playing those 2 West Coast dates..

 

I love the weird distortion that's sort of lingering underneath there

 

Love the verses more than the chorus in that song. Awesome tune overall

 

If the album is actually as good as we claim it is, it should past through binge listening.

Tom DeLonge is a great lyricist!

Also Deja has fantastic lyrics, some of the best the band ever wrote!!!

 

Just went through this and it really is one giant song with the grocery being the big moment at the end. The vocals are incredible

 

Oh my geeeeeoooosh dude don't even get me started on the end of The Grocery.

 

Tom Delonge writes catchy shit that is relatable and simple and that's the charm of his writing but in no way is he a great lyricist

 

On the wolf now, what an album. Seriously feel that it's just as good as this one

 

Getting this and Black Mile not just in the same year, but within a month from each other, is definitely a treat.

 

I'm already dreaming about the Yellowcard and Brand New Riot Fest reunion shows in 2030.

 

What I love about both records is that they really feel like they are absolutely the best the bands can do.

I respectfully dosagree.

He's the creative backbone of Blink-182 and I think Self-titled, Box Car Racer, and We Don't Need to Whisper are great showcases of his lyrical talent. He has a way with words, something a lot of people dont.

 

may as well give it a shot its pretty much in a lane of its own compared to the rest of their discog

 

Getting Science Fiction, Manchester, Lana Del Rey, and QOTSA all within a month Is crazy to me.

And next month comes Death From Above, Foo Fighters, The Killers, and The National (Plus some others).

This year is truly the best year in music in a long time.

I think we're somewhat agreeing? I just view it a little differently. He has a way of making me feel something when I listen to his stuff, I just don't think the lyrics are that technical or anything. I love his music I just wouldn't consider him a top lyricist

We somewhat agree, yes. But I still find him a top lyricist. Not all his lyrics are technical that's for sure, which is why I pointed out 3 specific albums but he can write really great lyrics when he tries. Prime Tom DeLonge (Self-titled to Love part 1 in my opinion) is one of my favorite lyricists of all time.

 

Why am I listening to nightmare

 

You can nitpick a single lyric or stanza off of any album and make a whole album look bad.
