rad as shit hearing Geoff gush about Brand New. theres that old like 2005 interview where Geoff was saying he wanted to get like Jesse Lacey, Daryl Palumbo, and Gerard Way on what was an early idea for ACBTLD. that wouldve been neat

 

at first i thought it was like "deader than your daughters dollar" which for some reason made me think Jesse was referring to his daughter or something but when I listened with my headphones and I heard "Donnor" i was like oh fuck thats a very oblique reference

All of Brand New's closers are excellent. That really elevates them for me, weird as it sounds.

 

I think my mind went to "doornail" given the expression "dead as a doornail".

 

love all their openers and closers. except maybe shower scene. love the song just maybe not so much as an opener.

 

I've always been a huge Brand New fan. This record now puts them (for me) up there with Gaslight and Jimmy Eat World who are my two all time favorite bands. So third favorite band ever.

I agree with this.

I think they excel at opening and closing albums. The only Opener/Closer I don't like is Vices

maybe i imagined the jesse lacey part because its not in that interview but i swear i remember seeing that. i def wasnt a fan of any of those bands back then so idk.

Vices might be my favorite opener. Hard to put it over Sowing Season though. Lit Me Up is also perfect
